Reviews for NeatMP3 Pro
Renaming and editing your audio files should be an easy process. You only need an appropriate software and you will be good to go. Searching for a good audio file organizer and tag editor may take you several hours. Thankfully, I already did that part. I came across NeatMP3 Pro 3 and decided to try it out. Read my findings and experience below.
NeatMP3 Pro 3 at a glance
This program oozes simplicity. Right from the installation steps to the tag-editing phase, everything is straightforward. To put it into perspective, the program’s 20 MB installation file will take you only few minutes to download and run the installation wizard. That UI also focuses on what the program intends to accomplish. The options are well laid out for ease of use.
NeatMP3 Pro 3 is easy to use
As mentioned above, this program provides tag-editing features that are clearly easy to use. While adding files, the program gives its users useful adding options are self-explanatory. After that, one only needs to select a file and start the editing process. You can also import file information from the internet for a comprehensive renaming and tagging experience.
Automatically search for audio files
One of the option that you get when adding files is the ability to Search for audio files of a specific file type. After choosing the Search option, you can proceed to specify an audio file type. You can also choose to search subfolders by selecting that option. This automatic search comes in handy in saving time.
Under the Monitor Folder tab, users can also specify a folder that the program can monitor for change during a system restart. In case of freshly added audio files, the program will tag them based on your provided profile details.
Useful profile saving option
While editing your current audio files, you can opt to save the settings in a profile. As a result, you can use the saved profiles for automatic information editing processes. This is another way for saving time.
No playing progress bar
NeatMP3 Pro 3 lets you play audio files to view their details. Being an additional feature, it comes up short. The feature has neither a Pause button nor the playing progress bar. Clearly, the approach showed that the feature is less developed. In turn, it offers nothing more than just playing your files. This feature also lets you add video files but cannot play them.
NeatMP3 Pro 3 is simple program to use for renaming your audio files. Its features are easy to use and provides a smooth editing experience. Based on all that, this audio organizing and tag-editing application is a worthy try.
NeatMP3 is the perfect tool for the music curator who wants his or her music in the right order and format. The powerful music file meta editor will definitely get the job done in giving your files all that critical identification and sorting data. I found NeatMP3 quite efficient and easy to use when editing my music file info. Here are the main things I found out in the process.
Easy to use uncluttered interface
The simple and straightforward user interface plays a big role in making NeatMP3 neat. You just have the options you need to get the job done. No fancy decorations or options that will confuse or derail you. This will not only make the app pleasant but also easy to use to the beginner.
Batch Tag editing
If you are processing multiple audio files and want to give them similar tags, you could load the entire file and apply all your editing to the files at once. The cool drag-and-drop feature will come in handy if you are getting the files from different folders.
Preview song to identify
Sometimes, my music files are so messed up I have to listen to individual files to identify them. Normally, other tag editors would have me use another player to listen to the song before tagging it. NeatMP3 will save this pain with its on board player/previewer. It might not be the best music player ever but it gets the job done.
Define a specific path and monitor it for changes
This is quite a neat feature. I have a folder labelled dump. This is where I save all my unsorted stuff. Since NeatMP3 can scan a specific folder for changes using relevant file extensions. It can automatically load the new files for processing once I launch it. The save in another place and delete original after saving feature makes organization even better.
Save profile for later use
Each tag settings you apply could be a profile for later use. You never have to apply the same tag settings more than one
Automated tag search
This would have been the best feature so far – if only it were automatic. I expected the app to auto populate the tags but was taken to a popular website to find out the tags and manually enter them. This makes no sense.
Most modern audio players show thumbnail data. It is a perfect way to personalize audio files and albums. It’s quite a bummer NeatMP3 doesn’t recognize this.
NeatMP3 is quite the wieldy audio file tag editor. Since it supports a wide variety of file types, it will be more than enough no matter what goes into your collection. Did I mention no one bothers you with ads or requests to buy a pro license?
