This is the second app in The Read and Spell Well Series. Following on from the previous app, it contains levels 6-10 which covers both and long and short vowel sounds and blends.

Reading is a code to be deciphered. It necessitates visual recognition of letter codes and their pairing with sound families. Some children instinctively crack the code. Exposure to one word sound opens their understanding of multiple word sounds and the exceptions to each rule do not slow them down. Others struggle to remember, distinguish, and retain the sounds.
The key to supporting a struggling reader is to introduce letters and sounds very slowly and to review sounds learned over and over again.
Our first app provided that essential repetition for the early sound families such as at, ip and up. Now the second app is available which provides essential repetition for more advanced word families, including long vowel sounds such as ane, ine and ete.
The app is purposefully simple. It contains some simple and colourful drawings but it’s primary objective is not to distract the reader’s attention from the text.
