TXT ME L8R saves lives and property by helping to prevent Distracted Driving, like texting. There is a ripple effect caused when there is an accident because of Distracted Driving. Either directly or indirectly not only is the person in the accident affected but the family, the friends, and the friends of the family too. What if the person survived the accident and were crippled, maimed, or disfigured for the rest of their life, what if you had to live with that for the rest of your life because you cause it. Now imagine at the holidays that everyone is gathered and because of excitement are probably talking too loud. The dinning table is set and decorated for a once year event, the house smells of holiday cheer, and there is an empty place setting. An empty chair that will never be filled again, a wedding that will never happen, and a graduation that no one will go to or take pictures of a personal success. This is what TXT ME L8R prevents, a lifetime of regret.

How it works : At a selected “texting speed limit” while the phone is moving the TXT ME L8R app will block the phone’s ability to send or receive text messages or use any of the apps on the phone. There is an exception list of apps from the phone that can be de-selected from a list of all apps that will be disabled while the phone is moving. If the phone is moving and a text message has been sent to the phone because of TXT ME L8R you will not know that you have received a text message. So, the TXT ME L8R app will auto-reply back to the sender “TXT ME L8R – I am Driving”. Also, all in-coming phone calls will go straight to voice mail. If out-going phone calls are blocked only 911 and the phone numbers saved on the TXT ME L8R app will be allowed to go out. If all out-going calls are not blocked then an email will be sent to the email stored in the TXT ME L8R app with the phone number called, the speed of the phone, and a link to Google maps for the location of the call. There is a “car mode speed limit” selection for the maximum speed limit for your state. When the maximum speed limit has been exceeded then email addresses setup on the phone will be notified of the speed and location of the phone. Since this feature runs all of the time in the back ground there is an increased battery usage. So, there is a choice to turn off 24X7 GPS checking to save battery life. On a daily basis there will be an email that is sent out for any attempted usage of the phone when it is moving even if that behavior is blocked. The TXT ME L8R Watcher program must also be installed. Both apps watch each other so if either app is deleted or if GPS is disabled then the parents will get an email and a text message that TXT ME L8R has been deleted from the phone or that GPS has been disabled.
