Hi all, could someone explain to me how to add/install spellcheckers for foreign languages? The downloaded file is an .exe file. Do I simply run it as executable and it will implement it self into AWP’s folder? Thanks!

[@mrnews54] Yes, Office 2000 will work in Windows 8/8.1. Just be sure to install it as administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows XP, SP3.

[@Philx] Good points; I had Office 2000 Pro also, and “upgraded” in 2008. I hate the “ribbon” and find Word a pain to use. Maybe I should re-install Office 2K…. does it work on Win8.1? Meanwhile, I’ll be giving Atlantis a thorough test-drive.

[@mrnews54] I have Office 2000 Professional. Works like a dream. And MS Word 2000 is just fine. After that, Microsoft pulled its usual stunt of trying to squeeze more money out of yet more people by saddling perfectly useable software with blooat and gimmicks and “user aids” that were never required and never necessary.

Atlantis Word Processor is a well nigh mirror image of Microsoft Word 2000. I know. I have both of ‘em open side by side on screen right now. Even the tools and options etc are identical to Word 2000.

In other words (Words??), this is one heck of a software offer.

@ Ashraf: Sorry but we’ll have to agree to disagree. The evaluation data of this software is embodied here in this comment thread. The button clickers provide no quantifiable data at all other than evidence of the fact that they can place a mouse on a smiley face. Can they also use a word processor? Doubtful.

Although I have Office 2007 and Adobe Acrobat Pro, I downloaded this program to check it out. It is VERY full-featured, much easier to use than Word, and 1000 times more lightweight (that’s a good thing!). I look forward to creating some e-books, and using this for documents and possibly code editing. Word Processors like this are a blessing in the age of MS Office bloatware. (I tried WP a few years ago, but found the migration from Word too difficult.) Atlantis looks like a breeze. Great program!

[@Susann] Glad you like the program! Thanks for the feedback :-)

    [@MARK] Welcome!

[@Philx] Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I won’t be removing it because there needs to be some way to rate programs/offers. However, I am open to making changes to improve it. What do you think?

@ Mark: Good Heavens: if your closing salutation is typical of what’s said in Swansea nowadays, it’s clear I’ve been away from Wales a long, lonnnnnng time . . .

@ Ashraf: This is excellent software and thus an excellent opportunity. It’s also a reminder to you, right here and right now, to abandon the “voting” facility that’s inexplicably incorporated in this page. Giveawayoftheday has been criticised time asfter time after time after time for its idiotic thumbs up / thumbs down “user vote”, something that’s very obviously manipulated and makes GOTD look plain stupid. Sadly, GOTD refuses to take any notice. I’m just trusting that you’re not about to self-inflict the same kind of needless reputational damage: there is no need, at all, for a happy / unhappy smiley vote on this page or on this website — the 52% favourable vote currently showing is clearly the work of quick-click morons who think Atlantis is under the sea and they’d really not like to get their computers wet by installing any of it.

******* PLEASE: SCRAP THE STOOPID SMILEY VOTES !!! *************

I’m not going to be taking advantage of this terrific offer simply because I bought Atlantis a couple of years ago — I’m just here to RAVE about it (nope, don’t work for them, gain nothing with this). I write books for a living, so my word processor & I have to work well together, but it also has to be robust enough to handle 120K word mss with a million rewrites & revisions AND provide formatting common enough to keep my publishing house happy. I gave up on Word years ago, tried a variety of WPs of every stripe & variety, found Atlantis one day & have never looked back. It’s a top-of-the-line WP — I tell people it’s what Word should have been had they done it right — and the support is phenomenal. Get this!

[@Tony] LMAO! This has got to be one of the most rare requests I’ve heard to date.

This is a wonderful offer and very simple to acquire. After downloading and installing the software, I was able to make e-books right away and with very little effort. I tested it with NOOK, Kindle, FBReader, Cool Reader, and in each instance, was flawless in both EPUB and MOBI formats. This will make all my documents easier to use on my tablet now that I will not need to use a PDF reader that scrolls up and down or left and right. Having the natural ability to flip pages makes it a more natural experience.

Thank you for this offer. I have already purchased Atlantis Word Processor, and have the latest version, so I won’t need to take advantage of the offer.

AWP does everything I need in a word processor (and I say this as a Microsoft Word user) except tables. So I recommend to all who are not able to afford MS Word, or who do not like its “ribbon” interface, that they take advantage of this offer.

The main reasons I use Atlantis WP rather than Word, in cases where tables are not needed, is its native ability to save documents as properly formatted epub e-books, and the fact that it doesn’t use the MS Office “ribbon” interface (which I cannot tolerate).

So how does one make it portable. The SETUP did not offer that option to me.
