[@John Griffiths] John; sometimes just uninstall does not work with basic uninstall, you might have to dig deeper. I have to go to my comp. local drive c open then go through and find a left over file/folder and delete/shred. hope this helps.

I don’t know why I didn’t think to post this earlier. I guess I just wasn’t thinking! lol

If any of you, that are having install problems, updated Windows within the past 2 months, those updates have been causing a lot of problems for people because Windows changed your settings.
There are 3 things you need to check:
1). Windows Firewall: Manually Add the site you are downloading from to your allow list.
    2) User Account Settings: Make sure they did not revert back to the default settings if you had changed them prior to updates within the past 2 months. I disable UAC fully, because I am the only one who uses this PC. UAC is your administration stuff.
3). Check your anti virus program. You may need to turn it off while you download the file.

For the past 2 months, after doing a Windows update, many people I work with have had this same issue downloading, or installing things, regardless of the product or site. After doing much experimenting with figuring out why this has been happening, those are the 3 things we found that were “reset” or broken after an update.
For me personally, it was my Windows Firewall. I just had to manually add the site to the allow list in it, and then things went smoothly.
This isn’t an SOS issue, it is a Windows Update issue, so you can thank Microsoft. They broke something with updates.
    Hope this helps!
Mac users having problems: I have no idea. Maybe don’t install windows updates? ;) lol
    Just kidding!

I also uninstalled my previous version of this software as requested by the installer. Once done the installer proceeded and then threw two errors. I rebooted and tried again (with security software disabled) and received the same errors. Went back and installed original software for the web cam that came with the computer without any problems. (Win 7 Home Premium fully updated and patched).

[@John Griffiths] Try to clean your Windows Registry even using that software. When done try to look for folders abandoned by older version of CyberLink YouCam in Program Files (or Program Files x32 on 64-bit Wiondows), and then look to [...]:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming next find flder Cyberlink, where inside you will find folders with settings sets – delete if there is something similar to YouCam 3. Next you can try that things inside of [...]:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local and [...]:\Users\[your username]\AppData\LocalLow. Clean unwanted files and folder inside [...]:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp. Look to your Documets folder and find Cyberlink, then what is inside – if you find there a folder like YouCam try to rename it or simply delete if nothing interesting for you is inside. Do the same in My Videos. One or more files leaved by already uninstalled program can make some problems with new installation, nobody can know which is that one you must delete but this never are you own recorded video or made photo.

I am wanting to install this programme and have uninstalled V3 yet the V4 keeps telling me there is a Youcam programme installed and I must uninstall it. How can I convince the installer that v3 is uninstalled!?

Win7-64bit with Comodo firewall <– I have often found that win7 firewall blocks connections without any message while Comodo always asks and thus it is useful when registering a Software for example. Hope this helps.

I also keep getting installation errors (Feature Missing: “Template_Std” is one of them). I have tried both download links (6 times total) and running as administrator. The file is listed as 184MB, but the file I download always shows 183MB in file properties. Thanks for the offer, Ashraf, but this just isn’t working for me.

I love this software thanks to the owner of this fantastic site for hosting such a superb Giveaway. I had used Many Cam as an alternative but felt it’s features fell short of the playful side of webcam software. YouCam installed fine for me under Windows Vista 32 Bit with no errors and I’ve been testing it using Skype and it’s worked although sometimes the virtual faces are a little bit choppy animation wise. Much much more simple then the Dell Webcam Center software that was included on my PC.

To those having install problems, it has to be a internet security problem. Some programs prevent the installer it’s running on from completing a byte values check to make sure the MD5 Sum matches the signature in the installer. See if your installer can work under Safe Mode on your OS and make a difference.

    [@misos] Welcome!

[@CUrly] Are you unable to start the installer or does it stop midway while installing? If the former, your downloads are corrupt — keep trying until you fully download it, you can try using a download manager to assist you: see http://dottech.org/130748/windows-review-top-best-free-download-manager-program/

[@ghudak] You only need one. The download_mirror file is just another way to download the installer. And the Serial Number during install isn’t your computer’s serial number, it is the serial number we gave you to register the program.

[@tahar] Click “Download It Now” button above and follow on-screen instructions.

[@KMHamm] I don’t think so but you are welcome to try.

    [@asovok]Welcome!

Since the link brings you to what is offered in YouCam 6, and this free offer is for YouCam 4, you can see what is in Version 4 compared with version 6 here: http://www.cyberlink.com/products/youcam/compare-4_en_US.html

While you don’t get all the goodies that are in version 6, it’s still a nice offer (if you’re into the webcam thing.)
Maybe comparing what you’re really getting might answer some of your questions, as well as visiting their forums. I love product sites that have a forum! :)
    Hope this helps!

Looks like a nice program however Iv’e tried both download links and unfortunately I keep getting file installation errors. The links provided by sharewareonslae simply don’t work for Cyberlink YouCam 4 Deluxe. It’s not like I tried one time and that’s it I have tried endlessly for several hours even though I had a terrible experience this time this won’t keep me from coming back tomorrow. Anybody else having download issues besides me.
