Can’t be Ultimate without MP4. No download for me! Thanks anyway.

[@Irene] And this is why Shareware on Sale is so important. . . Because if the software industry is to cleanse itself of trickery, duplicity, and downright scams, it’ll be as a result of the likes of Ashraf who have the integrity, and the courage, to tell it as it is. There are excellent software publishers out there. Thankfully, they appear on SoS (the recent Chica Password Manager was a case in point: not con-ware; not crippleware; and definitely not harvesting-your-emails-ware, which Engelmann — to name but one — has been doing for years.) But there are other software publishers and developers whose marketing tactics are downright repellent. Kudos as usual to Ashraf, who sticks to the facts and tells the truth. It might be a lonely row to hoe but it’s the kind of example that leads to user loyalty and in so doing will eventually develop enough momentum elsewhere on the ‘Net to see the isolation of all those developers and publishers who treat consumers as stupid. Lesson to aforesaid developers/publishers, then: **nobody forces you to give stuff away. ** But if you do, as a marketing promotion, then please don’t keep on deceiving people into thinking that what they’re getting is the original instead of a stripped-down, stripped-out useless piece of junk. As the posts here demonstrate:the goodwill of prospective users is actually far more important than the suckering-in of the gullible because it’s the former who will keep you in business as paying customers — never, ever, ther latter. Pavtube? It just went on my never-to-bother-with list. I wonder if there’s an Internet website of black-listed software developers compiled by computer users who really have had enough now of fruadulent “offers” and con-trick companies: after all, there are far more of us than there are of them. And yes: they do need *your* money.

I agree with Ralph, this version has not deserved the attribute Ultimate! I could go without the preset profiles for electronic devices – if I would have to, but for such a program it’s mandatory to have MP4, which became one of the most important video formats in the computer and smartphone world. I was really pleased, when I recognized today’s offer, but when I read the restrictions, I decided to pass.

Having said that, I’d like to finish my complaining, and say many thanks to SOS and Ashraf for doing such a great job every day.

No MP4? No specific output for electronic devices? That’s a scam. I’d rather use FormatFactory which is 100% free.

So, this really isn’t the Ultimate version as it says. It is a crippled version! It is Ultimate -1! No thanks!
