Just wanted to let everyone know that the software that you will download here is 8mb and after downloading ,will not start!, so i have downloaded directly from their webpage http://www.removelogo.com/remove-logo-from-video/ witch is 10mb and it worked fine, and just put the email and key that you have received,it worked for me.

[@Philx] I noted the same comments on GotD. At first, the comments seemed very encouraging, But as more comments were posted, I became less enthusiastic as well. I suppose the “miracle” worked on simpler, rather than more complicated, logos. Perhaps a future [GotD] version will be better, and worth at least trying at that time . . .

[@Suze] Time ran out on me, unfortunately! The giveaway appealed enormously not so much because of what it does (or claims to do) as the fact that it exists at all: the task it sets itself is so extraordinarily difficult to achieve that I was in no way surprised to see the $140 sticker. Reading up later on the GOTD comments though it became apparent that the software doesn’t perform the miracle claimed for it and that the $140 price tag is a stunt intended to make people think that yes, this must indeed be leading-edge. On which basis, I never did get the Softorbits’ miracle software and Softorbits never will get me as a future customer for its products so we’re all happy.

[@Philx] I agree with you on the ambiguity (see my comments above yours) . . . Did you decide to just go to the GotD site, and proceed from there? Maybe you’ll have better luck.

Cannot install. Unpacking the Zip results in a Giveawayoftheday-style compendium of readme.text, setup.gcd and the actual Setup executable. The executable is intercepted on my computer by Panda antivirus, an AV not actually known for false positives. In fact, this is the first such interception / alert I’ve ever had from Panda. It states: “setup.exe INFECTED. Uncategorised item. Restart your PC now to neutralise infection”.

Bafflingly, this software appears to be today’s Giveaway of the Day, downloadable from that website rather than the link I used from the email SoS sent me. I downloaded a program described here on SoS as authored by Video PRO (whoever they are) whereas Giveaway’s developer is stated to be SoftOrbits. This kind of ambiguity does nothing at all for user confidence. Couple this with the Panda AV warning of an infected executable — it could just as easily be a corrupted download as far as I’m concerned — and the effort of actually bothering with this pseudo-$140 program (yeah, right, , ,) isn’t worth it. Uninstalled.

[@Suze] Read the name like a sentence: remove logo now from video. The pro version.

[@Ashraf] Thanks, Ashraf. In the Software Description, “From Video Pro” is used throughout, so it’s pretty confusing :)

The only time that SoftOrbit is mentioned is in the link under Important Info . . .

[@Suze] Remove logo now from video… that is the name, not by who it is from.

Hmmm . . . why does this say “From Video Pro” when it’s from SoftOrbit??
