It’s a 1 year license, not lifetime btw..
Sadly, it appears that ASCOMP need someone to go and show them how to use a computer. I’m receiving a display that states:
“Downloading full version failed!
Please check your customer ID and make sure your firewall is not blocking internet access.”
This MAY be because I downloaded this very same program on a previous occasion.
When I login to my account it states that I can:
“License renewal
Extend License until 2025/10/04 for only $14.90”(“It’s a 1 year license, not lifetime btw.”)

It is a lifetime licence. the ‘one year’ is for updates or downloads or something. I had the previous version of this and it was well over a year since I got it and it was still working fine, yet if you login to my ‘account’ it says ‘unavailable’
I have created a new account for this download and in the account it has an ‘i’ (for information) next to the words “Available until’ and if you click on the ‘i’ it says:
“Refers to your download, update and support subscription only. Full version is valid for unlimited time.”
Like a lot of people I have had issues with my system so it is no surprise to learn lost my original copy and key for
Text-R OCR Software Professional Edition which I had installed last year. Therfore not able to use the registeredcopy.Imagine my delight on seeing the program available today. Only problem is on trying to download it / register it you get the same serial number which has expired. On contacting the company about this there response is you have to pay half of the purchase price to obtain a product which you can obtain free. This is a shame so will be passing on this product because why should we be expected to support a company who can give copies of a product away free but charge you by the backdoor in effect if you are honest and unlucky.
Registration is a JOKE, kept stating my password was wrong even though I just got it twice… KEEP YOUR crap!
In contrast to all the complaints above, I want to mention that, following the given instructions I was able to download, install and register the program with no problems. Note that the number wanted for registration is the customer number, which appears in more than one screen.

Let’s all get in the TARDIS, and remember that this is only OCR software. If you hate this software, set the dials to right before you discovered this software, and tell yourself not to look at it. If this software works for you, then set the coordinates for the nearest galactic cafe, and get a bite to eat. If you haven’t even tried this software yet, set the controls for a park on the nearest planet to think about getting it or not. On planet ########, they have WIFI that reaches Earth-the connection is good except in Downtown Galactic Hill Valley (I know what I just said, and it wasn’t even intended). Finally, if you just want a ride in the TARDIS, we have plenty of room.
