Video capture software
or it ‘Streaming video’?
Once upon a time, I installed a program on Window-XP on promotion, approximately called “Streaming Video” and decided to capture the live broadcast.
The result is a *.ts video file and a large file size (video duration is either 1 hour or more)NOT compatible with your PC ???
WTH ?
Bit of a mess re the getting & first run. Download flagged by Chrome as dangerous and blocked it. I retried and choose the do it anyway. Ran from download section for installation C:. Ok then I run it and initial prompt saying in light color text that you can but a lifetime version with full updates. Screw that. Run the finished install. Get a box saying need ScanSoft PaperPort 11 that is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the SS PP 11 & click OK.
Now I need a specific file, or full program. And then what? Prob launch and try a part of the full program and get the joy of experiencing yet another barf. furgitboutit Thanks for the offer but too much wasted time. yrmv
Just tried to dl a PP 11 “free” setup. Twice that download was removed by Chrome & Edge. geez
Found an old Brothers printer DVD Windows 7 and inserting it the 1AVCenter took long time but seemed to find what it wanted w/o me being offered to browse for the PaperPort folder on DVD. Not easy to find online since files either get blocked or download from CNet such but then get scratched by the browser (s). Search best thing is from users who have posted a free version of PP in ISO format.
After all this it does run and says 1AVCenter Licensed to Registered User. I used the dl from here. Maybe the one from forwarded email works better? It did arrive at my Yahoo email ok. Also says the reg is built-in.WARNING this software was designed for windows 98/XP originally and installs many illegal copies of GPLv3 FFMPEG.EXE into subfolders of your logged in users Documents folder which is autoupdates before use to a version incompatible with the original design technology. This developer does not know how to program for windows 10 or above without forcing the end user to have to lower their security level and places whole programs into data areas of the PC. It does not use modern windows API’s like WASAPI, all the programs that record audio for any reason are limited to discrete hardware input devices because it is built around DirectSound API from windows 98 era… if you don’t have a soundmixer or equivalent recording input device you will NOT be able to capture speakers output! Supported output video formats are limited to those originally supported by windows 98 e.g. AVI and WMV both practically obsolete. It does not support installation with windows 10 ransomware enabled. It will fail every time the spawned installer temporary executable tries to create a folder in the users Documents folder to defecate executables into the Documents folder, this action CANNOT be allowed past windows protected folder access control because the executable is launched from a temporary path and that cannot be allowed as that is ransomware behavior to mess with writing into the documents hierarchy. I could go through each and every sub-program in this suite and expose serious design flaws and bugs that have never been addressed but it would take too much time, the foolish would still install it because it’s free… the prudent and wise will take heed of the warnings I’ve already given and give it a pass. You have been warned.
[ @Ashraf] The so called professional web server for secure sharing of your files without relying upon 3rd party providers is NOT a professional server which would run as a multithreaded service but is a stand alone program that only serves unencrypted http connections from a single thread the authentication can be packet sniffed by any man in the middle or fellow user of any open wifi connection like in an internet cafe, it DOES NOT SUPPORT HTTPS connections and is NOT hardened against resource depletion from denial of service attacks or brute force credential attacks their claim:
“To top it off, 1AVCenter is also a secure file sharing professional web server for you to securely share your files without third parties involved over a regular browser.”
IS A COMPLETE LIE and your diatribe based on that lie is even worse and proves you have no knowledge of the server program and what constitutes secure sharing of files over the internet! The ONLY SAVING GRACE is this developer is so incompetent they never learned how to use the microsoft UPNP API so they are not capable of requesting a UPNP port forwarding mapping on your router to let the servers they run as insecure programs to be seen on the public internet where they can be discovered, probed and exploited by the malicious bots always scanning the entire internet for vulnerable servers. This software suite is dangerous if put on the public internet manually. USE third parties if you HAVE to share your files, encrypt them before uploading if you are concerned about the third party service provider spying on your content but never use the server this suite provides as the entire content of the server is accessible to any man in the middle attack packet sniffing undetectably and with impunity ALL transferred content without even doing a credentials replay attack on the server to gain FULL access!
[ @Ashraf] My suggestion is you return to reviews like you did on dottech.org back then there was value in your opinion, it appeared balanced, not like gets produced here. Assuming you are the editor that decides what gets posted about giveaways.
