I thought WHO is this company? And why should I trust them with my systems and data security and I found my answer…
From their About page:
“360 company is the largest provider of Internet and mobile security products in China. Founded in 2005, the company is the pioneer of free Internet security.”
So that means it’s subject to PRC security laws where they MUST supply upon request their customers information and MUST NOT inform the customer their data has been requested AND shared. Will this software protect our systems against PRC state hackers? NO? I didn’t think so.

Is a lot later than 2005 AND they are not THE pioneer of “free Internet security.” we had plenty of others prior to 2005 out here in the free world even AVG was available well before 2005 it’s domain has a Creation Date: 1994-11-02T05:00:00 and better known and doesn’t feel the need to promote itself via extended trial premium licenses via giveaway sites.

The code provided is missing characters
15 characters are retained and on the activation page request 25I used to run this one with advanced system care or malwarebytes – and they had a lawsuit apparently, about stealing the virus signatures – when Malwarebytes or something else created one 360 had it weeks later! LOL.
If you manage to go to the BENEFITS area, the code DOES work. Because it is a BENEFIT code, not the normal one. If you try to use it as a purchased premium, it doesn’t work because YOU didn’t PAY for it. it gives you ONE YEAR, unlocked. But the unlocking wasn’t easily found.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Open 360 Total Security. Start the program on your Windows computer. If you haven’t installed it, use the official 360 Total Security website or the installer specified by the giveaway organiser.
2. Sign in to your 360 account. Look for the Account button in the program. Click it and sign in using your registered email address and password. If you don’t have an account, create one first.
3. Open Account Manager. Once you are signed in, click Account, then look for Manager or the account management section.
4. Find the Activity Center. Within the account management area, select Activity Center.
5. Open Benefit Activation. Look for the option labelled Benefit Activation and click it. This is where promotional Benefit Codes are entered.
6. Enter your Benefit Code. Copy the code supplied with your giveaway. Click inside the code entry box and press Ctrl + V to paste it. Check that you haven’t accidentally included a space at the beginning or end.
7. Click Activate Now. Press the Activate Now button to submit your code.
8. Check the confirmation. The program should tell you whether your code was successfully accepted. Check your account or Premium membership details to confirm that the promotional benefit has been added.
9. You’re finished! Your promotional benefit should now be associated with your 360 account. You should not need to enter the code again on the same account.Why do we need this crap from China?

The 15-character code is the format used for this giveaway’s Benefit Activation page. In 360 Total Security, sign in and open Account Center → Activity Center → Benefit Activation, then enter your code there. The regular license-key page expects a 25-character key. Please do not post your full code publicly.

Please try the giveaway code under Account Center → Activity Center → Benefit Activation after signing in. This offer uses a 15-character benefit code. If it still fails there, please share the exact error message and your 360 Total Security version, without posting the code or any account details.

If you mean Malwarebytes’ 2009 announcement, it named IObit Security 360, a different product from 360 Total Security: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/29681-iobit-steals-malwarebytes-intellectual-property/. That announcement stated an intention to pursue legal action; it does not establish a court judgment. If you mean a different case, could you share the source?[@Stu]
