robert serviceGuestdownloaded and installed. it said newer version was available for free, which i downloaded and installed. it then said trial had expired and wont work
JSGGuestBe careful! The offer is for the old version (8.2.2.1). Nothing immediately wrong with that, but after you have installed, a Pop-up will tell you that there is a newer version and it is free for everyone with an 8.x version. This might be true for people that have BOUGHT the 8.x version but it is NOT true for people that got 8.2.2.1 from Sharewareonsale. So, do NOT upgrade. If you did upgrade by accident, uninstall Alfa eBooks Manager and install the free 8.2.2.1 version again.
It seems that some features don’t work anymore in the old version and if that is the case, then the publisher definitely made the wrong decision to make a version available here that is not fully working, but I need to test more to be certain.JanNSGuestIf this really does not work with PDF books, then it is useless for me. Can anyone confirm one way or another so that I don’t have to go to the effort of download/install/inspect if it is useless for me? Thank you.

It does work for PDFs! Some of the newer features refer to changes at Amazon where the eBook Manager retrieved some details about your books from. These features might not work.
GoofusGuestThis version is already out dated:
I started my version ( 8.1.29.3) and it popped up a window stating :
8.4.45.1 (2020-09-18) This update is Free for all users with version 8.x.
:)JanNSGuestSo I installed the program and it came up and started scanning my computer and stayed doing that until I killed it. I tried to set it up to scan again, this time using a smaller area of the disk, but it still went off into never-never-land. The only way I could get it to work is to scan a single directory that has no directories under it. That makes it unusable for me, even if it does see/file/etc PDF files. Very disappointing.
