I attempted to install Alfa Ebooks Manager on Windows 7 with Norton Security suite installed. Norton would not allow the Alfa setup to run and removed it as “Unsafe”.

Norton would not allow the Alfa setup to run and removed it as “Unsafe”.

Why Norton removed it is necessary to distinguish between malware and a false positive. Anything new will be a false positive (“WS.Reputation.1”) at a minimum.

I attempted to install the program 4 times on my WIN XP system. I even restarted the computer, and disabled AVG & ZONE ALARM
    I tried both the setup.exe (574 KB) AND the aemsetup.msi (25 MGs)
Each time I got this notice:

    “INSTALLATION INCOMPLETE
The installer was interrupted before Alfa eBooks Manager 5 could be installed.
You need to restart the installer and try again.
    Click “Close” to exit.”

    Hope you can help.
    Thanks,
    Marta

    To the developer:
It has been several hours since Marta’s posting but still no answer. I have the same error as Marta is having, however the setup was not interrupted. The program reports the same multiple times, regardless of which executable I run (setup.exe or aemsetup.msi). Also, I have checked to see if I have anything blocking the program from running, but these isn’t anything that would prevent it installing the same as I have been doing with others. What is causing this?

I installed Alfa eBooks Manager on my Windows 10 machine without any AV issues. Initially, it looked very promising. However unfortunately, I could not get it to do anything useful. Although I own numerous e-books in multiple formats (Kindle, EPUB, Mobi, PDF), its Scan function was unable to detect any of them, even when I pointed it directly at the relevant folders. Alfa did turn out to be very good at searching Amazon for books, bringing back very detailed information. Frustratingly though, it usually brought back information on paperbacks, even when Kindle versions of the same books were available. There is no option to configure it to search Amazon only for Kindle books – which is a pretty amazing oversight, given that it has a huge option system. So in a nutshell, nice interface, looked promising, but wasn’t able to recognise ebooks or search for them on Amazon.

Marta, this error is related to Windows installer, not to the program

Kindle, EPUB, Mobi, PDF – are well supported. Probably you are doing something wrong

In the options section you can add your file extensions

    P. S. In the “Windows-7” OK
