This review from pcmag.com who do extensive test on many softwares

    PROS
Attractive user interface. Includes optimization and privacy clean-up tools.

    CONS
Worst test results for malware removal. Worst test results for protecting a clean system against malware attack. Quarantined a number of verifiably valid Windows component files, luckily nothing critical.

    BOTTOM LINE
Where some antivirus products excel at malware removal and others at preventing new attacks, Anvi Smart Defender is consistently terrible at both. Worse, in testing it quarantined a number of verifiably clean Windows files. Avoid it at all costs.

That was a review of the early version 1 from back in 2012. Current version has better score on cnet. What I dislike though is Anvi’s homepage shows the PC Magazine Editor’s Choice seal along with part of the review from 2012,
“The product installs quickly and easily, and the necessary initial update doesn’t take long. Anvi’s slick user interfac ze gets right to business, with three big buttons offering a quick, full or custom scan.” But leaves out the rest of the awful review it received. To put the “Editor’s Choice” seal next to the snippet of the review gives the purposely FALSE impression that PC Magazine selected it as their Editor’s Choice when in fact it scored the lowest in testing and has never been recommended by PC Magazine.

Because I bought a Windows 7 re-installation DVD on eBay, I installed my operating system using this DVD.
Then, I got this free anvi smart defender software on sharewareonsale.
After a four hour full scan, this anvi smart defender software found two trojan virus on wexact.exe, but malwarebytes found nothing.
