At no point was there an option to enter the given SharewareOnSale exclusive license key…
All that blurb, “The first time you run ApowerREC, you will need to register a free VIP account with Apowersoft, if you don’t have one already. To do so, click LOG IN & SIGN UP and then SIGN UP. At the next window, input your email address and desired password; then hit SIGN UP. Next, check your email inbox for an email from Apowersoft; they will send you a 6-digit verification code you must input into ApowerREC. When you get the email, copy the 6-digit code, paste it into ApowerREC, and click NEXT. At the next window, click ACTIVATE VIP and paste in the following license key…” is not true! I “signed up” to Apowersoft but did NOT get a 6 digit number… Uninstalling it then reinstalling it did not help one bit… I’m sure the full version is great, but this limited bogus version is no good at all. Don’t be a troll. Of course it’s not fake. You probably had a previous SoS version – the same as I did. I had to uninstall the previous version and sign in with a different email.
Also the SoS instructions weren’t quite right. You have to put in the FOUR digit code as part of the sign up process. You CAN’T signup until they send the 4 digit code and you input the code to complete the sign up. Then you click on ‘activate’ in the software and put in the registration key from the SoS checkout page.
It’s working for me, but I did it my way.
-download installer from official ApowerREC site
-install and open
-click on Person icon, Sign In
-enter email address, click on GET under Verification code
-copy 4digit code from email and put it in Verification code
-enter password, create account
-password login, use created account
-after login, click ACTIVATE VIP and use your licence keyThis worked for me. I’m just curious, how long will this licence work and on how many devices ? In app it says “Valid until: 11.”

This is a 1-computer 1-year license, for commercial or noncommercial use. Does this mean that 1year from now, or from activating with license key?This is a bad activation key. Enter correct.
This software sets up an account with Apowersoft and it will not work as a registered application without it. Additionally, it adds a rule to the Firewall of Win 10 to allow outgoing and incoming transfers. Which begs the question, who else is viewing the recordings, what else is being transferred, and to whom is it being transferred to?
The software works fine. but my experience with Apowersoft has been that their lifetime giveaway licenses stop working after a couple of months. They check the license online every time the software runs, and permanently disable the license if it ever fails to verify against their online database. They seem to drop giveaway licenses from that database regularly.
They make some of their functionality available free online though: https://www.apowersoft.com/free-online-screen-recorderInvalid Activation Code. Uninstalling for good.

Can I ask what browser you used and where exactly on the site is the ‘Activate VIP’ button? I cannot find it anywhere and so my license has activated as 1 user 1 year as seems to be the case with others here.
