the installation ran quickly and well.
Also the program could be activated smoothly.
But already with the first attempt to provide a protection,
the software with an error message interrupted:
“The backup was stopped because of the following error:
Error starting a Windows component (Volume Shadow Copy Service)
that is essential for the backup (error VSS 0x8004230f).
Please restart your computer and try again.”
I’ve made this, twice even!
But always the same error message.
So I’ve uninstalled it again and am already curious
what you will offer to us tomorrow beauty.
Have a nice day :-)

I tried the link you gave in this email but it doesn’t work! It states “Invalid Product Registrations” This is the email you sent! I’d like a link that works if possible. Thanks for your help!
The download link for Ashampoo Backup 2016 is given to you above. The download is an exclusive SharewareOnSale installer with registration built-in. To get your license key, click here to go to the exclusive SharewareOnSale registration page and follow on-screen instructions to get your license key. Once you have your key, download and install Ashampoo Backup 2016. During install, you will need to enter your license key. After that, finish installing and enjoy!Apr 9, 2016 at 1:36 pm #4689178John FongGuest
This is a bogus offer and a waste of time. After you go to the registration page, it asks for your email address. Then it will send an email to the address entered. This email is the same as the original one. It asks you to go to the registration page again. It is a loop cycling over again. Finally, you will get a page that says “Invalid Product Registrations”. They never send a valid registration code. Don’t waste your time. I tried about 5 times and kept getting the same result.Apr 9, 2016 at 1:43 pm #4689202RichardGuest
I could not get this to work. I followed the directions: The download link for Ashampoo Backup 2016 is given to you above. The download is an exclusive SharewareOnSale installer with registration built-in. To get your license key, click here to go to the exclusive SharewareOnSale registration page and follow on-screen instructions to get your license key.” But you are never sent a license key. The second email is the same as the first one, and asks you to go the registration page, which again asks you to enter your email etc, etc,…a license key is never sent so you can never go any further in the process.
Please send a valid license key, or better (correct?) instructions.Apr 9, 2016 at 9:50 pm #4690149fctlmnGuest
No issues with reg. Give your email, sends email you click to verify, window with serial shows you copy, install program, paste serial when it asks et voila – it works. Easiest thing.Apr 9, 2016 at 9:56 pm #4690162Rob Donw UnderGuest
You should not be attempting to do images whilst Windows is running.
If you do it from a bootable CD (the way God intended), then Shadow copy will never darken your doorstep again.
Does this giveaway allow one to create a bootable CD, for creating out images ?Apr 10, 2016 at 8:58 am #4693833danGuest
Where is it recommended to install and run BACKUP from?
If your system becomes unbootable should it ONLY be installed on a thumb drive?Apr 10, 2016 at 9:15 am #4693914danGuest
I don’t understand the 2nd sentence in your VERDICT section, please clarify:
“Don’t use it if you wan’t to secure your files and you don’t have a spare hard drive that is safe from any data woes that your original drive could encounter.”

Did I interpret the results at the virustotal.com pages reached by clicking on the “Anti-virus scan results” links correctly? They seemed to indicate that both download links had one virus.
Despite this, I decided to download the program and check it with my antivirus program (Comodo) before installing. Comodo and Ad-Aware both found nothing wrong.
However, I was not able to install the program. I got the license key by email (as I have done with other offers from sharewareonsale.com) but had no opportunity to use it when running the .exe file. Instead a pop-up appeared with this: “A required privilege is not held by the client.”
So I tried downloading the program (the .exe file — ashampoo_backup_2016_23286.exe) from the other download link. Same “required privilege” message.
What is going on?
(When I clicked on Submit below, a pop-up appeared here asking me to select a rating. How can I? I haven’t been able to install and try the program. I have clicked on one star since I have to choose something.)Apr 12, 2016 at 1:40 am #4702681JacksonXGuest
Having a look at what Dennis said “Ashampoo Backup 2016 is all about backing up the hard drives and partition. No more no less”, and I don’t even want a try never to say someone have said this is a bogus offer. Even the free edition of AOMEI Backupper can do system back, disk backup, partition backup and file backup(I have been using it all the time and wonder if there is better one). And more surprisingly, I even use AOMEI to make a bootable media. Here is a link, in case someone need. http://www.backup-utility.com/download.htmlJun 18, 2016 at 1:52 am #5119660JerryGuest

I have never used Ashampoo Backup and so cannot give any useful information, but after I have it installed I will come back and elaborate since I see others have had problems.
What I will say is that I have used many other Ashampoo programs and have found all of them to be very good. The FREE version installers tend to be heavy, but the programs themselves have all been good.
What I really came in here to say is a recommendation and that is to register on the Ashampoo site. Once you’ve registered instead of waiting for a license key you sign in and get that license key right away (they will also send an email too). The direct benefit is that when you register an Ashampoo program while logged in that particular program is now registered in your name and can be downloaded, installed, and registered whenever you need to. The license keys are also stored with each program on their site.
