Activation failed repeatedly for me.
This is not a independent stand-alone-installer, it installs Ashampoo-Connect (v1.6.50.38828) first, the control central for downloading it.
Another free installer for Ashampoo Uninstaller installs the Ashampoo-App (v2.0.0.0) first,

[ @Ashraf] If you installed the program in a testers environment in order to produce your review on the giveaway page what is the size of the installer one eventually gets to download, not the pathetic little downloader for the downloader that eventually downloads the real installer… also why don’t you put the installed footprint of the program in your verbose reviews, tell us something we NEED TO KNOW! If you never installed it on what do you base your verbose reviews always extolling the products.
I installed Ashampoo app because they required it for a program I purchased. I don’t think you can install any Ashampoo software without this??? It, or the Duplicate File Folder program contains something that Microsoft identified as potential malware, which I excluded. The program itself is not very good. It took well over 2.5 hours to scan 1.2TB of files. There is no way to fine control what it scans other than designating a drive — you can’t choose a type of file like videos, documents, pictures or music. Then it includes
- every
file history entry ever made in the duplicates findings, so I got thousands of duplicates. Once you have the findings you can theoretically exclude something but I did not see how to exclude file history as a batch process — just for each individual “duplicate” found. To me this is useless and I uninstalled the program. This is too bad because most Ashampoo software is good. I have been using Music Studio and Burning Studio for years, YMMV but this Duplicate File Finder is a fail for me.

LukaI don’t want/need an unwanted software (ashampoo app), as other people already said.
I stick with “Wise Duplicate Finder”, which let you choose drives, directories, filetypes AND size with no hassle.

[@TK] Pointless (but useful to others who read your comment). Ashraf stopped reading comments or responding to them years ago when he became AIshraf not long after he moved from Make Use of and developed this site.
