Just the usual reminder for those unfamiliar with Ashampoo’s version # scheme. Products with just 1 or 2 digits are full versions, products with year date are renamed previous versions or are feature limited. For example: WinOptimizer 12 is the same base version as WinOptimizer 2017 but 2017 is feature limited.
In this offer HDD Control 2017 is the same as HDD Control 2 & is also the same feature you get included with WinOptimizer 11 & 12.

That said, HDD Control is a great product for monitoring your hard drives & includes a few extra tools such as junk cleanup, disk testing tools, etc. and is well worth including in your toolkit if you don’t already have a tool to check drive health.

    Hi everybody. :)

    On ashampoo website:
    – Ashampoo HDD Control 3, Version 3.10.01, 2016/01/26, windows OSs: xp, vista, 7, 8, 8.1.
    – Ashampoo HDD Control 2017, Version 3.10.01, 2016/07/14, windows OSs: 7, 8, 8.1, 10.

How could they have the same version number?
From that, it seems they have only changed the requirements and the software name (without touching the code).
    I’d like to read a developer’s comment on this…

Just downloaded this on the current giveaway. Installed without incident, but when I ran it, it says “No drives detected” and tells me the drives might be non-supported RAID drives or something. NOT THE CASE – all drives (even the DVD) are standard SATA drives. What gives? I tried restarting the program a couple times. No help. Reviewed previous comments here, no evidence of previous issues, so can you help me? I really need a GOOD program like this, and your name stands proudly in my past experience.

[@Mark Magill] YEP same here, when it first started it saw all 4 and told me about each one, even the fact they are all running 44c or 111f yes all 4 all same temperature. I might but #3 and #4 being that as they are at the bottom of stack, but not all 4 @44c. SO I hit that little refresh icon and POOF it came back with NO HARD DISK DETECTED.

Oh Ashampoo, you’ve done it again……..glad I have Ashampoo uninstall

Well, I last posted about this in September, but the issue is apparenlty still unresolved. Downloaded it again on the current offering, same result. I saw the note about having to restart the program a couple times, so I tried restarting it 5 times, even rebooted the computer and tried again. Still “No Hard Disks Detected” every time, suggesting they were attached to a special controller. No, they’re not. They are common, every-day SATA drives. I give up… sure wish the author would respond to this issue.
