Rick CGuestWindows Defender is catching a virus when I download it.
BeGeeGuestWhenever I see “SE” (Special Edition) software, I think “Crippleware”. Is this the case with this software today? If so, what are the features that are unavailable?
JohnGuestIs this the Special Edition though? I don’t see any indication on the listing, but normally they don’t over the full version here for free. I have paid around $20 for the full version in the past as I like the program, but honestly there is not much of a change year to year. Has anyone downloaded and installed and can confirm this is the SE? Thank you
sludgehoundGuest[@BeGee] It’s SE as the SOS image itself indicates though in the file description it does not. Just has 2025, not 2025SE. If already a user just fill in the activate popup form and good to go. I don’t use many of the features so can’t say what is limited. Maybe site or some online reviews spell it out. Does the minimal listening jobs for me.

userxGuest[@BeGee] Same with me. Calls it “severe threat” and something with trojan etc. Download is via mediafire where a key is generated on-the-fly. As a consequence every individual download could result in an individual installer which is not known by antivirus programs. Still it does not make a good impression if it should be the antivirus heuristics claiming it to be a troyan. I won’t install it as long as there is this uncertainty that somebody might have compromised the download or something like that. I don’t want any external mechanism which has nothing to do with the original software to automatically register anything. This is a bad hack reminding me of applying a software crack
DierkGuestHave the full 2024 version of Audials (actual purchase, albeit during one of their sales), but was interested in what the 2025 release might change.
Alas, link goes to MediaFire website, and the Download(ing) “button” simply spins, and spins, and spins. Tried both Firefox and ARC.
And, YES: this is the SE edition…
FWIW: Have owned several versions of Audials, and have found the app Very Useful at times, although not always as Easy to Use / “Intuitive” as one might like.GeneGuestAs “Guest” in post #22774373 above detailed, these particulars seem sketchy enough to make this a non-starter. (Of course, one could always run the installer file — prior to any attempted install, of course — thru the wringer at Virustotal, to see what detection patterns emerged — if any.
My beef with Audials One pertained to a version offered here some years ago, which claimed to offer a “Portable” install option. However, it was *anything but*, dumping a staggering # of files onto your hard drive. That is the very antithesis of any truly portable software, which is supposed to be runnable (standalone) from a flashdrive, even though that is likely to slow everything down considerably. If and when there happened to be a non-SE, non-sketchy download, and *truly* portable-option edition, I would be game to give it another shot. But probably not until then.
RoyGuestThis is the version installed from SHoreware-On-Sale’s setup exe:
Audials 2025.0.49.0, built on 24/10/2024
Streaming Service 3.3.912.0
Server: prod-asky07.audials.com/
tag_production_20241015_3_a2c24937d910I could be wrong, but I believe this is the very latest version of Audials 2025 and is the same as the one being sold commercially
RoyGuestAll upgrade posts in the app can be turned off inside the “Options” under User Interface\turn off Discounted Upgrade offerings.

I downloaded Audials One 2025 but was unable to install in Win-7.1 because the installation noted I needed .NET Framework 4.8.1; so I tried to install .NET Framework 4.8.1 but received a notice that .NET Framework 4.8.1 wasn’t supported on my operating system??? Any suggestions and or answers???
DavidGuestThanks, Ashraf!
