I purchased a one year license (4 devices) for $9.99 some time ago. I liked this software very much, however…

They never asked if I wanted to renew my license after a year and I could not find in my profile a section on automatic renewal. Instead my credit card was billed $49.99 to renew the license. It took a lot to get a refund. I almost had to do a charge back on my credit card.

So in sum, this is good software and does the job, but if you decide to install and use it, be careful. If you don’t have to provide a credit card number though, you should be good. Just give it a try for 3 months and be prepared for the nagging to purchase a license at an inflated price.

That was very nice of you. Based on your experience, I will pass on this as well. A similar experience with Heimdal made me have to do multiple requests to get refunded on an offer that never stated any automatic renewals at the start (I saved copies of the offer and each step of the purchase). I never got around to installing as I could “install any time” and the refund stated that the initial license purchase was dead too, so I even lost out on that initial cost.

There is no need for a company to scam its customers. You could have been a lifetime customer, but they blew their chance.
