Warning if you are coming to the US from overseas; you cannot easily use Boost Mobile.
I bought a Boost Mobile eSIM from their website and tried to activate it when I arrived in the US. They wanted to send me an SMS with an activation code to the number of the eSIM but could not, of course, because the eSIM wasn’t activated yet. So, they transferred me to the verification department who wanted to ask me verification questions based on my US credit history. Since I don’t live in the US and don’t have a US social security number that didn’t work either. The only remaining option was for me to visit a local store with my photo ID to verify my identity. Since there was no store that I could viably visit, that didn’t work either. So I was left with an eSIM I couldn’t use. So I asked for a refund. They said sure, let’s just verify your identity…
The only way to get my money back was to dispute the charge with my credit card. To be fair, Boost Mobile had no objection to me doing so and it was clear that they were not trying to cheat me. They just have a system that is all but impossible for a visitor to the US to use.
