For those who are wondering what this software is, from the publishers website – “Confidential allows you to tag files , with different levels of confidentiality, along with your team.”

    Hi from the developer :)

Please don’t get turned off by the name and the marketing: the software allows you tag a file straight from Windows Explorer and see the tag straight away, with 4 tags of different colors.
Right now the 4 tags have certain default names, but in a week we’ll roll out a version that allows you to rename the tags. Then you can use those to mark file like “to do”, “done” etc. or “Good”, “Average”, etc.

Let us know if you have questions!

Installation not successful, says it’s already installed, and that I should de-install the current version first.

While in fact there is no such previous installation (there has been a recent Confidential giveaway but with a 1-year license only so I didn’t install that one) but there is an installation of Tabbles which is from the recent giveaway over here. So possibly Confidential installation will work if I de-install Tabbles first, but Tabbles being more important to me, that wouldn’t be a solution for me.

I’m quite surprised a previous Tabbles installation has this effect upon a Confidential installation, from the same developer.

Hmmm…according to “we’ll allow users to define their own tags in the next release”, I’ll pass on this one.
Will be very nice to have, by example (in my case) : “build by HFG”, “build by wife”, “test version”, “final version” and so on.

    Anyway, looks interesting, thanks.

Have not used Windows Explorer (as main file manager) since mid 90’s, so …….. what else does it work with. Nah never mind, have no team.

    Hi Bs,

this is correct: Tabbles and Confidential can currently not be installed in the same machine. But since Confidential is an upgraded version of Tabbles, it kinda makes sense :)

Write us on our website if confidential.tech if you want to know more.
