    Interesting tool, but unfortunately not the one I need.

    I am searching longtime for a tool, which is able to
    take a huge input directory (ca 4 TB) and split the files
    in multiple directories, eg yyyy-mm or yyyy-Qx. The
    new directories must be created automatically.

    Would be of great use for me! Deal.

    Total Commander’s Multi-Rename Tool can do it.
    You can use e.g. [Y]\[N] mask, and it will create subfolders for each year and put the corresponding files into them. But the files won’t be copied, just renamed (moved).

    Well, this is an unexpectedly versatile program. The copy functionality is quite robust and the URL download functionality is definitely a bonus. Thank you for the offer.
