kc4copGuestI wonder how much of this program duplicates Corel’s old PaintShop Pro program? A big improvement would be to make the program more user-friendly and not require such a steep learning curve. I will have to depend on memory to compare the two programs as I did not install PaintShop Pro on my last two computers.

YURYGuestHow to get free updates for the same major version, if there is no activation key. The new software update does not overwrite the program without activating it?

Mister LeeGuestThe big question for this giveaway is this:
Is this “Corel AfterShot Pro 3″… which apparently Melvin has based his review on, OR, is this rather “Corel AfterShot 3”, (NON PRO edition)?“Corel AfterShot 3” seems only to exist on S.O.S. site.
I can find no reference to it on Corel’s site.
I can not find any mention of a non-pro edition on any Google searches.*Note:
– The stated S.O.S. price of $39.99 does not match the price on Corel’s site, which is $79.99, marked down to $54.99 (Save 30%).
– The “box image” on S.O.S. does not match the “box image” shown on Corel’s site. Image here shows a girl w/ a single horse, close up. Image on Corel shows 3 horses running, (no girl).I hope I am wrong, but I suspect this is NOT the Pro version, but rather a stripped down, crippled version… also known as L.E., (limited edition).
Question to Melvin: Did you in fact base your review on a download from S.O.S. today, OR, did you download the trial version of “Corel AfterShot Pro 3” from Corel’s site and base your review on that.
I wonder, because in the second paragraph of your review, you say, “This latest version of AfterShot PRO…”.Question to Ashraf: Would you please address the above, so we know for sure, BEFORE downloading, what exactly is being offered. I WOULD BE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE THE PRO VERSION! I DON’T NEED ANOTHER STRIPPED DOWN, LIMITED EDITION OF ANYTHING ON MY SYSTEM. I HAVE TOO MANY OF THOSE ALREADY!
Note to Ashraf: I am very appreciative of the obvious hard work that you do, to keep this the best site on the internet for shareware and ‘freeware’ (free for a limited time). I hope you don’t interpret my comments above as being petty or unappreciative of what you do. I am very grateful for your efforts. However, this issue is a pet peeve of mine. My wish is that there could be clarity and unambiguous descriptions of offerings, so that this would never be an issue.
Best regards, Mister Lee
LouisGuestSetup bugged, stop with error at 74%. Downloaded again, same result. Maybe software realised for old 32 bit configuration only, not for 64 ?
Nick HGuestI found references to After Shot Standard, AfterShot Pro and AfterShot Pro Ultimate on Corel’s and/or other websites. I could not find any reference to Corel AfterShot 3 other than on SOS. This all helps confuse the issues, especially when websites state different file sizes and prices for the download for seemingly the same version of the software. I found both box cover designs mentioned above featured in reviews for AfterShot Pro 3; maybe some sites are lazy with regard to getting these sort of details correct. SOS says that this is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. From – http://www.aftershotpro.com/en/products/aftershot/pro/?hptrack=mmasp#tech-specs – “Please note: AfterShot Pro 3 is 64-bit only.”
I suspect at least some of the confusion stems from Corel themselves as different pages on their sites state different things about their products. It would help a lot for SOS users if we did know which version this is

Error Corel AfterShot 3 cannot be installed on a 32 bit computer, setup will now end.danGuestAshraf,
Can you investigate and report back whether or not this is the PRO version?
I had the same question as the other commenters while reading your offering.
Thanks,
DanPhoto GuyGuestI am an aftershot user. Aftershot is what Corel called the photo editor Bibble after it acquired it several years ago. It is not paintshop pro. Aftershot is a high quality photo editor available in 3 versions, standard, pro and ultimate. Bibble was the first to put MOST editing common editing and color functions on a right hand menu rather than as tabs years ago. Most current photo editing programs have since followed Bibble’s, then Aftershots menu flow.
Like all editors, there are some things that the program does very well. One of its strengths is that it does not have a steep learning curve. Lately it seems to compete most closely with Zoner Photo Studio for a sophisticated pro-sumer user audience. It is positioned nicely below Photoshop as a full featured but easy to use photo editor.
This free offer is a great opportunity to give it a try. I do hope that this helps some people give it a try because it is a very nice editor. Its NOT ProGuestWell first off I installed it on a Windows 7 OS 64 bit. They tell you it’s pro and no need to register because it’s already registered when you install it. Of course that big black guy with a gun is not there to kill you and rape your wife, you believe that too right?????
SO I installed it, had to give them an email address and it took about 175 meg of space for the program. Once I ran it sure enough Shitwareonsale sticking to the norm made sure we got the STANDARD EDITION. YEP you read it right!!!!!!
Nice big ad at bottom left…….GET MORE FEATURES UPGRADE TO PRO AND IT’S ONLY 39.99 TO DO IT. No place does it say pro except dumb asses review. So it’s the shitware version standard and with the limits of what it can’t do I say go Pirate a copy of pro adn tell this standard version to fuck off.
RichardGuestInstalled, registered, pointed it at a folder of photos, it crashed. Launched again, it crashed. Uninstalled.
Vern AbbottGuestAfter installing the program requested choosing folder locations for the catalog.
After replying OK to the default locations provided by Corel, the program window closes and does not open.
I have checked using Task Manager and there is no processes being used for Aftershot 3, so I assume the program closes.
I have repeated this multiple times, resulting in the same state.AshrafKeymaster@Everyone wondering about the version: This is not the Pro version. This is the Standard version that you see here: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/855714/Corel-Aftershot-3-Standard-Download-Version/
I am not sure if Corel themselves sell the Standard version anymore.
As for system requirements, sorry I didn’t update the tech details. This requires 64-bit versions of Win 7, 8/8.1, and 10.
