Mister LeeGuestAt the top of the page it says the following:
This is the “DE version” of CyberLink PhotoDirector 7.
Does anyone know for sure, what “DE version” means?
Usually it will say something like, “LE Version”, (Limited edition).
I’m sure it’s NOT “Digitally Enhanced” — it’s always less, never more.
So the question is, how crippled is it, from the ‘buy’ version?AngeSophieGuestMerci pour cette super offre, j’adore CyberLink PhotoDirector car il est intuitif, facile à manipuler et tout ça pour de grand résultat.
DanGuestLayers not enabled for this.
GregorGuestThank you very much
consuellaGuest[@Mister Lee]
DE=crippleware.
Unfortunately, for us, the visitors to this site, it is a rather prevalent practice by this developer to offer only stripped down versions here, which is quite regrettable. This not only causes a great deal of disappointment, but, in my opinion, also reflects badly on the developer’s reputation.CALVINGuestdownloaded and installed cyberlink photodirector 7 said it was free but cant activate without a code whats up
KrzysztofGuestThis is only Demo. PhotoDirector 6 Deluxe is 3x better.
Mister LeeGuest[@Mister Lee] I see from the post by ‘Krzysztof’, that this is a “Demo version”. So apparently, the answer to my question, “DE version” = Demo Version. What a shame. It would have been nice if the developer had just spelled it out for us. It would have saved many from wasting their precious time on this earth, from downloading what they presumed to be a bonafide application, only to be disappointed. I have to agree with Consuella, CyberLink is damaging their reputation by offering crippleware, instead of their actual program. I understand they are in business to SELL their product — not give it away, so why not offer an OLDER edition of their apps… then if people like what they see, perhaps then they will want to pay to upgrade to the newer and better version. Their current scheme will likely just alienate potential customers.
damfreezGuestI installed PhotoDirector 4 whenever is was offered on here last. I am wondering if it has more functionality than the demo version 7 currently being offered. I have to confess I have only used it a couple of times so I can’t say that I am well versed in how it functions!
PhotoDirector 4 has 279 mb while I see that version 7 has 265mb; not a lot of difference in size so that doesn’t really help me much.
