Hmmm…
While it seems like interesting software – be advised that this software licence expires on 12-31-2019. I’m uncertain if it reverts to a free (limited) version or what will happen when that date arrives but 4 months is all the time this license key gives you. I guess that is enough time to evaluate the software and perhaps that is the idea, however, i’m not planning on migrating to a new computer soon, i just wanted this software for the day when that may occur, but i have no idea when that will happen.My apologies – i didn’t notice that the 4 month license is for updates – after that the software is lifetime.

In this way i can’t run it end give the license key.

I’m still concerned since on the program itself it says key expires in Dec. Guess will just have to wait till then to know for sureWhat is it?

Question for the developer:
The online requirements state that the two computers need to be connected to the Internet to transfer from one to the other, plus, the computers should not have any other programs running during the transfer, and the online FAQs state that the user can move from HDD to SSD (both disk types are supported), but does that mean that I can take a hard drive that has an OS on it, then attach it to a computer as an external drive, and attach an empty drive on a second computer, then transfer from that 1st computer’s attached hard drive to the attached drive on the 2nd computer? By doing so, no programs would be running on either disk, and it should be easy to do the transfer without any interruptions. I would then take the “transferred to” drive and put it back into a computer to continue.

In Regedit I see the name mentioned a lot of times, but not a sign that it is configured.While the offer page says “Supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, and 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)”, the developer’s web site says it supports Windows 7-10, 32 and 64 bit. They do not claim XP support on their web site.
Also, out of curiosity, why are you running an operating system that is now FIVE generations behind the current one?
Has anyone installed this and seen a list of supported installed programs that can be moved?
Their web site is all fluff, no details about anything. And I mean ANYTHING.
I’ve reviewed software professionally for various publications over the course of many years. I downloaded and installed this because it happens to be at a time that I wan to do a clean install of Win 10. Here’s what I’ve found so far:
1. “Help” does not work.
2. Mapped NAS drives are not recognized.
3. Attempting to submit a support ticket goes to a non-existent page.
4. Clicking on “Upgrade” asks for registration information, only.At this point, I have to decide whether I want to try using an external drive. To be honest, I’m hesitant, given the encounters of the worst kind so far. If I do proceed, I’ll post my results.
Question for the developer:
I will amend my previous question where in my question, I have “… attach an empty drive on a second computer.” I misspoke, knowing that both disks must have an operating system, therefore, the second drive would have an operating system already installed. The Fast Move program would transfer other programs to that operating system.
Laplink is the leader in consumer program transfers between computers. They started with a telephone modem cable, then to an Ethernet cable between the two computers. Now, they can handle various ways of transferring between two computers. What advantage does Fast Move offer that LapLink does not?
If the user has an internal network, even just two computers attached to the same router, they can transfer files between the two, much faster than transferring through the Internet, so is Fast Move transferring files through the local network, or is it transferring through the Internet? If transferring through the Internet as opposed to the local network, what is the logic for doing so? I can understand that if two computers are in two entirely different locations in the world, then the Internet transfer would be necessary. Short of that, it does not seem necessary to go through the Internet.

The Laplink product only allows its use ONE TIME. If you want to do it again, you have to buy it again.
This is NOT to imply that I’m recommending the program being offered here. Their web site is, for a technical product such as this one, content-free.

So how does this program work? If one has a Windows license, you can reinstall without this. One can save all of their documents, pictures, videos by copying. One should be backing them up anyway.The question I have is will it move installed programs to a new computer? This can be done by making a backup image of the whole disk of one machine and restoring to the new driver or computer. Some drivers may be wrong. But if this is not handling incompatible driver and moving everything about installed programs including registry entries, exactly WHAT is it doing?

When Laplink is used, it has to be installed on both computers involved (A to B), but it can be used over and over between those two computers. The transfer would be in the same direction (A to B) for each of those runs.If however, you wish to transfer TO a different computer or transfer FROM a different computer to the same one already transferred to (B) (has the software already installed), then you will need to install the software again, and that would make more than two installs total, thus another license. You can get a discount if you need another license.

I agree totally. I was hoping this would be a competing product to Laplink, at a greater price, and a greater license, but alas, the website is nowhere near finished, and no details on the software. The FAQs leave more questions than answered, and there is no way to contact them. Seems they don’t really care because they could have jumped on this site and answered some of the user’s questions. They would have at least given some hope that they will get their act together.I think this version 1.2019.807 is an indication that it was released on 2019-08-07. It more than likely is nothing more than a Beta release (since no conclusive proof by others, testers, media, etc.), or worse, it is an Alpha edition, and they just want to see what type of response users will send back to them.
The transfer process could likely take days in some cases, and there is no indication it can handle any interruptions. Only if I had two computers to experiment with would I gamble on it, but I neither want to gamble nor do testing for them. I will let the other pioneers deal with the arrows, but with such a poor introduction of the company and its product, I don’t expect there will be many takers.
