GuestHonestly, “PCWinsoft” via “SharewareOnSale” and “BitsDuJour” is taking advantage of the opportunity to recycle its products. The difficulty in finding a new daily offer complicates the management of these sites, which nonstop offer free or discounted software.
“PCWinsoft” hasn’t developed any new programs in a long time, and its website seems abandoned!

Guest[@fpi] Yeah BDJ run giveaway after giveaway of pcwinsoft ancient products most of which place illegal pirated GPLv3 FFMPEG.EXE and other pirated 3rd parties binaries into subfolders of the logged in users documents folders as if that is a legitimate place to put executables! And normally no one receives the BDJ offers license by the official channels, I’ve posted suggestions they use the licensing mechanism used here and on GAOTD when product is auto-registerd and use getserverdate.exe during install to register the giveaway to registered user… UNLIKE MOST OTHER PCWINSOFT GIVEAWAYS this uses their code ONLY and does not attempt to corrupt the logged in users Documents folder with literally illegal executables!
Concerning their websites… they have 2 and a half websites up there and ALL are incomplete or have contradicting information on them. And behave in an inconsistent manner.pcwinsoft.com/home.asp
using Microsoft-IIS/10.0 powered by asp.net
and pcwinsoft.com/
still using Microsoft-IIS/10.0
but powered by wordpress
the half a site is the faulty responsive asp.net powered mobile pages that often default to rendering the mobile friendly content rather than the desktop content even when one is in a desktop mozilla firefox maximised window omn a 1920x1080p display.
Regarding THIS program… there is an independent program called search.exe it is an ancient visual studio 6.0 program that relies upon DLL’s NOT installed on modern systems and should be installed by the programs installer itself but is NOT installed. mfc42uD.dll and MSVCRTD.DLL I had to add them myself. This program should install just fine under XP and up but with those files missing from the installation that will need to be added. I provided the missing files under Vista and set it off searching with the default settings and because the search is handled by a separate program search.exe there is zero program feedback in the user interface of progress or any found fat files and likely won’t get any GUI update. It’s been over half an hour and no apparent progress… I see no disk activity from the search.exe process in resource monitor… I note the *D.dll files are the debug versions of the DLL’s and SHOULD NOT BE USED IN PRODUCTION VERSION! I’m uninstalling this as it’s just not working and certainly will never work in windows 10 with the critical DLL’s being missing… too.
Fat files are not normally a problem and the fattest files are system files that should not be touched let alone deleted! -
