    Opened program
    Moved file to lock
    Icon text turns red
File is still open and readable.
Could not get it to work.

The key is working correctly, make sure you enter it exactly (no spaces)

The file will still open, its only hidden from others, but if you have it via the app then its accessible to you.

Unable to register this poor and irritating program.
As soon as I start this program I enter “mykey” to register it.
It ALWAYS informs me that it cannot register it as it got times out.
    This is a lousy program.

Key works ok for me. Encryption lock would be good though but does work to hide folder from desktop

As usual, the 8 screen bloated AI is way out of line with reality.

[@Bay Area John] In addition the Ashraf derived dross ADDS to the official descriptions calim that it also hids folders not just files. There is zero mention of it encrypting the hidden data SO the data is still there and accessible by any sector editor/forensic/file recovery deep scan. and does NOT protect your private data from exposure AT ALL except maybe from the most cursory glance… snake oil!

This is THE WORST SNAKE OIL I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS! ALL it does is set the Hidden attribute of the file or folder all one has to do is select show hidden files in the explorer options or dir /A:H in a command prompt in the folder to find the hidden files. Ashraf you should be ashamed of what you published! It is also misleading ADWARE for a product called cypher vault that allegedly DOES encrypt the data… this does nothing apart from setting the Hidden attribute… it’s a bit like the product that added a deny special permissions to the Everyone group… this is not even that. I’d be embarrassed to publish this as a stand alone single function program… it’s as if this “developer” wants to make a single program out of every API call! You can set the Hidden Attribute in the Properties window… the only additional thing this does is make the setting not reset able in the standard explorer properties interface. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME/BANDWIDTH/SSD Writes…

The tool bar is not even designed correctly with it being too narrow the icons are chopped off at the bottom! You should pay me to try out your single API call GUI alpha test version!

[@TK] more stupidity… it does not retain registration state demanding the license key at every program launch! It is also NOT portable as it saves the list of items pseudo-hidden in a json file in the WRONG place in the users C:\users\[USERNAME]\data.json
That is the wrong place to store program specific data, especially for a so called portable program… they should be stored in the portable programs folder hierarchy not in a location that could conflict with other badly written programs files. If they wanted to store program specific data ON each host systems according to the logged in user they should choose a path like

    C:\users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\File Hider Pro\data.json

But even then having a plain text .json file with the hidden paths tells a nosey person exactly where to look for the pseudo-hidden files. pseudo-hiding files like this does not protect them from deletion when the parent folder is deleted too.

[@TK] Hi TK. I came here for the answers you have given. After reading the description, which did not mentioned the encryption, I have got so many doubts and guessed that the prog just changed the attribute for files and folders to hidden. That is not privacy! . Thanks, Bro TK, for your input. Ashraf should have made you as moderator or as an admin. You do the best testing job. I am looking forward to yr reviews in the future.

    Oh baby!

It stopped for a short while, but now the breathless middle school level AI Slop prose is back. So remarkably irritating.

    JUST STOP!
