Guest[@BreMM] a portable version… that integrates into the systems shell extension registry settings and will need access to executables and DLLs to function that’s an oxymoron what happens when you unplug the USB drive with it on? a bunch of non-portable settings will cause the shell extension context menu options to fail!

GuestI have this as version 7.8.3 on my Vista server one thing that consistently annoys me is the BUG in the register server context menu entry.. it always fails as the command has to be executed as an elevated user and it is executed in the current context of the shell and does not ask for elevated rights. This version does request UAC rights on Register DLL execution so at least that’s been sorted. The only problem with using tools like this is the context menu can grow extremely large even meaning it can exceed screen height causing the menu have to be scrolled to get to the Properties entry that is always at the bottom of the menu. I’m also wary of excessive shellExt entries as they may cause explorer.exe to periodically crash and have to restart with no notice. But I do miss some of the entries I got used to under Vista with version 7.8.3 while working under windows 10 so will give this offering a try under windows 10 while its here. I was pleasantly surprised to see just the official description on the main page for this giveaway. Makes a change from have to scroll through pages of dross to find out what the vendor wants their product to be described as.

Guest[@TK] this version resolves the ever growing context menu by putting all it’s shellextension operations in a single context menu entry that spawns a sub menu so that helps:-) hopefully there will be no resource leak in the DLL that is registered as the main shellExtension… time will tell.

GuestHere’s a heartfelt THANK YOU to Ashraf and anyone else here involved in the decision to end the ridiculous AI generated “promotional” descriptions. Not only stopping, but removing them from the past offering pages. Their absence is greatly appreciated, and shows that someone here actually reads the feedback and considers it of value.

GuestYea! The giant AI descriptions are gone, hope it stays that way :)

GuestGREAT little utility. Very useful. Author keeps adding stuff to it. I’ve had it for years.
