JeanjeanGuestDon’t work under Win8.1; error message :
“Unexpected Error in module: FileOperationsListlnitialize()
Error: Automation error
Application-defined or object-defined error
Source: cFileOperationsListlnitialize()
Number: -2147319780
Line Number: 30”CJ CotterGuestInstalled OK. My OS is Windows 7.
There are features and options in this program that you will not be allowed to have until you fork out $15 for the “Pro” version.
I use a folder-icon-changing program to change the manila folders on my computer. This program does NOT carry over the changed folder attributes, even though it copies the hidden .ico and .ini files. The program “Synchredible” doesn’t have a problem with this.
GramorGuestI haven’t installed the program because from the description I cannot realy make out if it is really a synchronisation app or rather a backup appllication. Synchronisation means folder comparison both-ways i.e. to copy or update on both sides what is newer or unique on one side and optionally delete or copy only unique files from a chosen side. I usually find freecommander adequate for this task when I want to update the pictures folder with its backup, then the backup folder on an external HDD may have files you want to copy to your laptop supposing you also have a desktop and you want to keep the 2 Computers in synchrony. I think there is a tendency now for cloud-based applications though for this sort of tasks.
Ehhhh GuidoGuest[@CJ Cotter] THANK YOU SO MUCH for saving me the trouble, I hope I can do the same for you some time in the future. Before I install anything from Shitwareonsale I always come check the “Leave a nice Comment” section and JUST FOR THIS REASON!!!!! Thanks again, Guido
Ehhhh GuidoGuest[@Jeanjean] Because windows 8.1and 10 suck bigger balls than 7 ever did. Don’t worry Bill Gates thanks you every time he strokes it.
danGuestSome of the links at their site does not state Windows 10 is supported – for example:
http://www.folderclone.com/fcinfo.htm
Other links say that it is, so it makes me wonder how careful these folks are?Salty Brine SoftwareGuestFolderClone works great in Win8 & 10. It’s been tested and developed for the newer Windows operating systems. If you have any issues, it’s not due to FolderClone running on those operating systems.
Salty Brine SoftwareGuest@Jeanjean – that error most likely means that there’s an issue with the installation of the Microsoft scripting components on that computer. Whether or not you choose to avail yourself of FolderClone, you’ll want to look into this issue as many software programs make use of the Microsoft Scripting Library.
Salty Brine SoftwareGuest@CJCotter is correct, there are certain features which are available only in the Professional Edition. But most users should not need any of them to fully use FolderClone to backup their important files.
Robert RepkaGuestI installed it and it says that I have a 30 day trial version. Where do I get the license key?
Robert RepkaGuest[@Robert Repka]
NEVER MIND. I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS. JUST UNINSTALLED. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM FINDING LICENSE KEYS ON sos GIVEAWAYS BEFORE. -
