Best Regards,
Genie9 TeamMr.DaveGuest[@Rich] Rich, sorry I didn’t respond sooner… Genie Timeline basically copies files from the places you chose to a destination folder. If you change or erase a file by accident, and Timeline had already copied it, then Timeline will help you get it back by restoring it from the destination folder. Timeline will make a new copy in the destination folder any time you change a file (next time Timeline does a backup), so you can often restore an older version if needed. I can’t imagine why it would ever mess with a system restore point. Timeline is not a program that routes all disk and registry activity to a sandbox area to let you reboot to rollback all changes. Timeline only works with files that you tell it to protect.
That being said, I just checked my own System Restore list and I only see one restore point. But I’ve done some disk cleaning and have set the space allowed for restore points to a fairly low amount. So I can’t tell for sure if Timeline is affecting anything. Anyone else out there know any more about this?
PatGuestLaptop with Windows ten cut off after running backup for 20 minutes. Now will not boot, just freezes after showing a Windows picture.
Anyone know what fix for this situation might be? Any help appreciated. I do not have a recovery disk. Laptop is HP and has been totally trouble-fee.
SolomanwiseGuestWow, I love this backup program. It backed up several GBs of files in a just a few minutes in turbo mode. I had no problems with the install and registration was easy with the supplied key. This is definitely a keeper for me. Thank You to the software company that supplied it for free! I love this website! AAA+++
ChlamydosaurusGuestTotally agree. A fine, easy to use file/folder backup solution. According to Genie Technical Support GTH uses CRC to verify that the copying was performed without error.
I’m still learning it’s many features and one I’ve just discovered is the “No Backup Zone = Drag and drop files into the No Backup Zone to exclude them from your backup.” Very handy.
Cheers
davidGuestThanks, Ashraf, and thanks to Genie9!
