The SOS Hub puts the download in our %TEMB% directory, it a new file called:

    SharewareOnSale_Giveaway_Image_Former_Professional_Batch_Edit__Convert_Photos[1]. exe

Look for it manually and copy it to our preferred directory ( I use C:\Install\A\Ascomp.de\Image-Former-Batch-v1\*.* because I organize things ).

    Then follow the instructions again.

The program works, very many options, more arduous than FREE IrfanView for me, and the program window cannot be resized to use my full screen, not to reduce it for a smaller screen.

    Hey, it’s v1.

We’ll see if AScomp. de makes v2 more competitive.

    Hi everybody :)

Does anybody know of a software, preferably freeware, that can convert .SVG files to .PNG, w a good resolution?
Also one that can convert a x256 .PNG to x256 .ICO at 361kb.
I found a couple, but they only convert at low res.
If the same soft can do both operations, would be great !!

There was a great site (iconverticons.com/online/) that could do both operations, and gave really very good results, but its no longer functioning since ± Oct.2019. Tried to buy their soft, but its low rez.

    @Peter Blaise
As always, thank you for the great information & advice you keep giving us. Much appreciated !!!

    Thanks in advance
    Peace

    I use FREE Irfanview for individual [ S ] save-as conversions, ( tap the [ S ] key in IrfanView ).

    Or [ B ] batch conversion ( tap the [ B ] key in IrfanView to get started ).

FREE IrfanView can also reduce or expand the color depth or turn grayscale, by the way, see menu Image > Increase Color Depth or menu Image > Decrease Color Depth, the same settings appear in [ B ] batch options.

I presume you mean x256 = 256 pixels across, no problem, can be set individually in IrfanView via [ Ctrl ] [ R ] Resize, or in [ B ] batch menus.

I have no idea what you mean by 361kb, if you mean the resulting file size, that’s a result of options in color depth and resolution and compression.

Glad to help, that’s what we’re here for in exchange for free software, right?

Thank You so much for your reply :D
I’ve heard of IrfanView, t’was on a (very) long list of softs to check out if it did what I need.

Yes, I meant x256=256 pixels; and 361kb as the file size result. Sorry abt that!
And that is the problem right there, LOTS (SW & online) do convert to x256, but than the result is under 200kb, which means if I iconize a fldr w that icon, its resolution is too small (and even at 292kb), it does not show as full size. Yeah, I know, its nit picking …

    I’ll try IrfanView right away :) !!!
Been looking for a reliable app for quite some time!!
AND thank you for the shortcuts, that will help a great deal.
Just went to their site & saw they also have a portable vs, which is great !!!
Will let you know how it goes.

    Peace !!

What operating system needs 361 KB as an icon file size in order to display it?

I suppose you can add noise in FREE IrfanView at menu Image > Image Effects > Effects browser ( or Ctrl [ E ] ) and scroll to select Noise and then slide to add as much noise as you can tolerate ( – noise and + noise are equally effective, for some reason ), the result should be an image that contains more information, so a 256 KB image may become 361 KB with just a little added noise, I suppose.

    Sirs,

I just downloaded “SharewareOnSale_Giveaway_Image_Former_Professional_Batch_Edit__Convert_Photos_hub.exe” and did all I use to do.
Run as Administrator, Download and install yes and finally “Save installer to my computer in Downloads folder” with Install now.
Go to the Downloads folder, do not save the installer and do not install either.
    What can I do?
    Thanks.
