I don’t like to give negative reviews but I’m uninstalling this one and my recommendation is Stay Away. I hope I’m wrong, maybe someone else will have better luck. I wish I could get back the half hour I wasted.
This giveaway is for a free version, even after it’s registered. Studio version costs more. Free version, according to their website, overlays some sort of message on the resulting picture. I don’t know, I never got that far.
I loaded in a picture and when I selected a filter, I was told I need to buy and download the filter pack that contains that filter. 2nd filter I picked said the same thing. I was going to give up at that point, but tried a third filter. That one was accessible. I picked a subfilter from the list but it didn’t change anything in the preview image. I tried several others, same result. I clicked to apply the filter to my pic, the filter window closed, the pic looked the same. I tried again with another filter. When I applied it, the pic lost all it’s color and then went blank for a bit, then came back with the original pic.
Tried a “generator” down in the lower half of the filter window. It replaced my pic with a pattern. I exited the filter window and tried to undo my change. Had to go to their site to find out the trash can icon is Undo. Read through the rest of the tutorial. The first tutorial screen was duplicated for some reason. Back in the program I clicked the trash can. It spun around but did nothing. A few more clicks gave same result, no change to the picture. If I clicked the picture itself, my original pic showed if held mouse button down. When I released, the Generator pic showed.
I opened filter window again thinking I could turn off the Generator from there. No way to do unselect it. I tried clicking Abort and Cancel, but got a message that I couldn’t leave because filter process had not completed. It asked if I wanted to end the filter process, I said yes, and nothing changed. Wrote this review to give it more time, and repeated abort for same result. At least I was able to exit the program. This is version 9.6? It might be usable when it gets to 25.6.
