aliGuestbon logiciel, mais interface en français et en anglais.
MERCI.hgGuestCrippled! Standard version doesn’t include incremental backups.
BarryGuestI agree with hg, this version does not match the Description of the offering. It is advertised as doing both differential AND incremental. It does not. The incremental option is greyed out.
On this basis there is no advantage in using this over Macrium Reflect Free version which also does not do incrementals, but is rock solid!
I also find the interface cluttered with icons. Too much of a good thing. It’s easier to read a label than to try and figure out what the graphic means.
DAVE COLEGuestTWO THINGS – ONE. THE DOWNLOADED FILE WAS IVYBACKUP3dotEXE, NOT SharewareOnSale_Giveaway_IvyBackup_hub.exe. MAYBE THIS IS THE REASON INCREMENTAL BACKUPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE??
TWO. “AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE TRYING TO REPLACE THE EXISTING FILE . DeleteFile FAILED; CODE 32. THE PROCESS CANNOT ACCESSS THE FILE BECAUSE THE FILE IS IN USE BY ANOTHER PROCESS. ” [ WHAT FILE WAS BEING REPLACED? ] [ IS IS SAFE TO SKIP THIS PART? ]
THREE [ :>) ] I’M NOT SHOUTHING. I HAVE VISION PROBLEMS AND IT IS EASIER FOR ME TO READ ALL CAPS.
wildkoalaGuestThis time the SoS hub window did not appear. When I clicked on the downloaded exe file the Windows smart screen stops the set up because of unknown publisher. Tried to use the same file, this time from developer site but a message warns me that it cannot be installed on my Pc. OS: Win10 ver.1803 fully up to date.Pls let me know if issue is mine or there is another reason.
Thanks NicoLeslieGuestWhat is the format of the backup file. Can it be opened by another package?
The reason I ask is that say in 7 years time I want to retrieve a file from the backup but the software no longer works (Windows Backup from Win98 anyone). Can I extract the file via some other means?
GaryGuestFor a few years, I have collected details of this software for every offer online that I have been able to find, such as the Give a way sites, reduced price sites, software of the day, etc., and in every one, the features of the full package is in the offer text, but the item being offered has been either the home or standard edition only. A lot of potential users noticed and commented, but it looks like the company is continuing this practice still. It is a shame. Basically, the software creates a Zip file, no different from what any other Archive program that supports Zip files. A Backup is an Archive, and vice versa. The Open Source Bitster is an example of a Backup program that creates backups/archives in Zip file format, but it never claims to have a feature that you don’t get.
