Got this in a giveaway on 1/24/2018, version 5.8. Changelog on their site shows today’s newer version as:
    v5.8.1
    09 April 2020
    Improved performance.
    Minor bug fixes.

Very nice if you do a lot of work with text or programming or web files. The tabbed interface (multiple files), search & replace, file compare, bookmarks and column support all go way beyond Notepad capabilities. Would be nice if it could sort lines of text but I can always copy over to Libre Office Calc for that.

LopeSoft is the same team that makes FileMenu Tools. I know many people don’t like that it changes your context (right-click) menu on installation, but it has saved me a lot of time over many years. They are responsive to problems, very helpful.

I downloaded the app, got the registration key.
Installed app, the title shows “LopeEdit lite”.
I installed key “GIVEAWAY-xxx”, got a message “The license activated successfully”.
Restarted app, the title still shows “LopeEdit lite”. All LopeEditPro functionality unavailable.

It looks like the “promised” app, but I’m not able to use Pro functionality.

I had the previous version installed from a January giveaway and it was working fine. When I tried to install this new version, installation failed with a message that it couln’t delete the previous license, and told me to remove it manually. There was no such file or directory. I tried uninstalling via Windows but got the same error on reinstall.

I copy-paste the GIVEAWAY-*** key but I get a message “The license key is not valid”. Is it expired?
