I’ve tried this program and it’s decent, but I’ve been using a different program, for years, that I highly recommend, developed by CloudEight titled “FolderMagic” and it’s always FREE. It started out as a pay for program, but even then it was much less than this; it eventually became a FREE program. You can find it by simply typing the title in your favorite Search Engine.

Take the time to compare their three different versions:
    https://mstech-co.com/compare-folder-icon-versions/

SoS is offering the Basic version. When you click on the link, above, they are offering their expensive $55 Pro version for $9.99 for a limited time. Th Pro version has a lot more features and options.

What I need to know is this: WildWeasel suggests “FolderMagic”, yet it is unknown if either FolderMagic or MSTech Folder Icon produces changed folders that are independent of the program and portable. That feature will be the deal changer for me.

Here is the response I received from MSTech:

Thanks for contacting us, yes the icons applied by MSTech Folder Icon are independent and portable.
