I just checked my Drives/Partitions with the program built into Win 10/64. 2 are at 1% fragmented, other 5 are at 0%. Scheduled for weekly runs, so it’s not *always* on, searching for fragments and rearranging my hard drive and taking up processing power just when I need it most for something else. It understands to Trim my SSD drive, not defrag it all the time. I don’t see how this program from O&O could work any better, so somebody please correct me if I’m wrong! O&O has been around for years, they seem to know what they’re doing, but how would this help?

I’ve tried programs in the past that try to consolidate all the empty space, move the most used files to the beginning of the drive, and other strategies. Can’t say there was a noticeable difference with any of them. I’ve got games installed in one partition, most other programs on my SSD (my C: partition is 344 GB with plenty of room for Windows and lots of other programs, still over 1/3 free). And I regularly download and try out stuff from here and a few other sites, create large files with my music programs, get large (and small) games from GOG, Epic, Steam, and apply program updates. So disk storage changes. A lot. Often.
