At last. I have been blocking my phone mic and phone camera for years. Kind of addicting. Now I can do the same with my PC. I can’t believe that others haven’t already created this software. Kudos.

I look everyday at the freebies, but only install about one every month. This was it. This is worth it.

Up til now, I haven’t had a webcam for privacy reasons, hackers are better than we give them credit for… This program is smart enough to see that I don’t have a camera plugged in, and ghosts the icon until I someday will plug one in. Now with a way to block it, I’ll buy one, at which point the GUI will make that icon colored and available.

I DO have a microphone which is mandatory for what I do, but have been unplugging it which is a pain in the ass.
When you turn the mic block ON, you will need to close anything that is currently recording, and then restart your recording program to see that the service has now been blocked. (i.e. you could be recording something, and then block the mic, because it won’t take effect until you try to start the mic recording program again, at which point your mic will fail. This way you can block ahead of time, and it will automatically block future attempts without stopping the recording your currently in.) Works just like the phone apps do, so nice to have.

So far, this is super… well built and well thought out. Can be driven by opening the program and using the GUI, or just right click on the tray icon and choose a blocking option.

Thank You for this app. Seriously. Way overdue. People are naive when it comes to privacy. This helps tremendously.
