    I have written to the company about this problem and it has not answered me. The same thing happened to me the previous time: activation problem. I am no longer going to use more programs of this company and I believe that SharewareOnSale should not accept these products either.

    [@neme] Same here. Earlier 4.2 version from GOTD got over-installed & removed by installer. Then same error from the SOS emailed link & key. Retried after uninstalled.
    Will try other methods.

    I had the same experience as other users here so there HAS to be something wrong. I had prior versions of Sketch Drawer, I installed the new program and got the license activation error. I uninstalled the prior version and re-installed the new version and I get the SAME message. Now I have an unregistered program. What to do? Obviously this is a real problem because so many people have been complaining about it. This is a GREAT program and I’d love to get it fully working again.

    The advice from SoftOrbits to uninstall the older version does not address our problem because the act of installing this giveaway removes the earlier version. Ashraf’s comment about only downloading from this site does not help either because we got the problem after trying to install this version from this site.
    I am still getting this problem, but have investigated further and I suspect that the problem is with the SoftOrbits activation process and administrator rights. Here’s why.
    I have an administrator account that I try to avoid using except for troubleshooting, and I have an everyday account that does not have administrator rights.
    I installed this program with my everyday account, but when installing software I am asked for admin rights to install it. At the end of this installation process, when asked if I want to run the program, I get the activation box and get the activation error mentioned by so many people here.
    I completely uninstalled and re-installed the program and got the same activation error. As an experiment I changed to my administrator account and ran the installed program (I did not re-install it as admin), and again got the activation box. However, this time the key was accepted without any problem and the program ran as registered.
    When I changed back to my everyday account and tried running the program again I still got the activation box and the same error.
    In the registry, for my admin account, the license key is shown, whereas for my everyday account the entry is ALREADY_ACTIVATED and changing this does not affect the running of the program in my everyday account – the activation problem persists.
    Thus my deduction is that it is an administration rights issue within the SoftOrbits activation process.

    As I said in my original post, I loved version 4 and recommended it widely, so was looking forward to trying version 5. But SoftOrbits’ totally ignoring the MANY posts here about the activation issues for this giveaway is very troubling. Their suggestion about uninstalling the old version is clearly NOT the solution, since others posted that they did that and now are left with NO activated version.

    It’s bad when there is a glitch in the registration of a product from here, as there sometimes is. But when it results (due to the company ignoring MANY posts) in people losing their older, fully activated product as well, it is time to reconsider taking chances installing products from here. Which is a shame, as in the past this site has been a wonderful resource for users, and a great promotional tool for developers.

    I had 4th version, too, and also have faced the troubles with activating on Windows 7 (error ‘You have entered an incorrect registration code’). After lots of unsuccessful tries, I was able to make everything work, and that’s how:
    * Uninstalled the version which I was not able to activate manually (that is before installing again);
    * Disabled antivirus and firewall;
    * Installed via “run as admin”;
    * Activated;
    * Re-enabled antivirus and firewall.

    I installed this yesterday and registered. I down-loaded and registered thought it took but didn’t, I proceeded to run a picture and when I hit file to save another register box popped up and I entered the code and it was then accepted.

    Your are lucky. I try from yesterday to register and nothing, always the same message. If no solutin come from SoftOrbits I’ll uninstall it. The reliability of SoftOrbits will have the publicity it deserves in the forums.

    I have tried and tried repeatedly, using all methods, and nothing works. SoftOrbits is quickly getting a bad reputation. I had Sketch Drawer 4.2 which is now GONE and I am left with a piece of crap that won’t activate!
    Yes, it has been reported that it does indeed work, but it still doesn’t for many, including myself.
    Please offer a WORKING solution.

    The registration DOES NOT WORK. I had the same experience as most of the posters here – I had an earlier version of Sketch Drawer installed, uninstalled it (which maybe I shouldn’t have done) and then installed the new version. It gives me the message that a license already exists. So this shareware IS NOT WORKING for many people. We need a new key or some way of fixing this. There are enough complaints here to show this is a real problem.
