Slow, but it works on Arch Linux (by WINE). I test the software from SoS with Linux, because I have enough problems with Windows.

[@Dimma] No drawing/painting software can compare with FotoSketcher ( http://www.fotosketcher.com ), by far the best in this category. Sketch Drawer Pro, as honestly hinted by its name, turns photos into sketches only, not into paintings, while FotoSketcher can create a rich variety of pencil, crayon or ink drawings, water or oil paintings, posters, cartoons etc. Very easily, you can improve your source image (luminosity, contrast, etc.), blend the source image and the drawn/painted one in multiple ways, apply drawing/painting effects only on certain parts with a brush, add textures, frames and text, and there is a batch mode. It has a pleasant GUI: you can chose between light or dark background, there is a small preview window in real time with a zoom etc. The program is in fast and permanent development, there are 32-Bit and 64-bit versions, installable (opt-out the toolbar) or portable, in 23 languages, and the dev’ is considering a multi-platform version usable on Android.

And at least you won’t lose the freeware (even for commercial use) FotoSketcher, while a Sketch Drawer giveaway, like all SoftOrbits giveaways (and I have experienced that veeery often), has a clear tendency to lose activation any time after installation.

(I have no connection whatsoever with FotoSketcher -I just like the soft- and no prejudice whatsoever against SoftOrbits, which makes some very good products (like Photo Retoucher), except that I do not think it is very honest to keep on offering giveaways as long as they have not solved this deactivation issue they know they have.)
