Mr.DaveGuestI was hoping for something a bit more musical (I had a program many years ago on my Atari ST that would create songs from pictures). Sonic Photo Silver creates sounds from pictures. Very fun to play with. My favorite so far was from a scanned-in music tab for a dulcimer. The horizontal lines created fixed pitches creating a strange chord sound, while all the note marks between the lines sound like a whispered voice. They could play this sound on one of those ghost hunter shows!
Sounds can be saved for use in other programs. You can adjust length (very short to over a minute), pitch range, etc. You can invert pic colors and flip or rotate the image. Settings can be randomly reset with a button click, making it easy to try things and see what all the sliders do. I don’t know if color makes a difference, but light areas create sound. Areas at top are higher in frequency. I suppose you could create a picture knowing all this that would then turn into a song in Sonic Photo Silver, but that’s not the point of this program. Very fun (and fast) to see what sounds you get from different pictures! I like seeing the scan line pass over the image and hear what it picks up. Good design, easy to use. I like it!
Nemer DizioGuestinteresting
boudewijn lutgerinkGuestInteresting, even though I don’t have a good use for it yet. I like the concept of it.
