I like Spideroak. I believe they were the first with encrypted storage and I have 5gb free and started with them when they started. They have gone downhill though and 6 months is not even worth it. Their windows app also is not optimized for 24k.

This sucks and is too short.
It is a tease and NOT worth it. I hate short offers like this crap as it is a waste of our time and effort.
Pass it up.Not bad. A little slow, but it works. Yeah, this offer feels like a trialware.

Oh, contacted them about the 24k optimization. No idea whatsoever if or when the app will be updated. Spideroak was once thought of as a leader, they have really fallen behind.
[ @Ashraf] Does it matter to much if I use a still-active SpiderOak account, or does it have to be a NEW account, for the 100GB offer to work?
I added it to my existing 5gb account just to see if it could be done. It can, I now have 55 but again the 50 is just for 6 months.

Yes, but make sure you compare apples to apples. Spider Oak was the first zero knowledge cloud service (as far as I know) and you have to compare them to other zero knowledge cloud services. Of course you need to not use the app for zero knowledge.
The cheaper ones are typically not zero knowledge. Not important for many but very important for some. I believe Mega is cheaper but who knows how long Kim Dot Com with stay interested. Of the the zero knowledge spider oak and tresorit are the ones I have the most confidence in staying around, tresorit is even more expensive….or was anyway. I have p-cloud but not real confident yet.

can you still access your files? Or do you need to upgrade
to get back your files?
