Odd the program here says its for free – having followed the instructions to the letter I found it strange its says I have to pay for it – a small amount but that does mean its not free!
Witcher card game seems to work fine, although I would guess if you don’t have a fast connection its going to take some time to download. Asa result I am not even going to try to download The Witcher.
THIS IS NOT FREE. IT SAYS THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER GAME, GWENT, IN YOUR GAME LIBRARY TO GET IT FREE. OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO PAY 1.49 FOR IT. DUPLICITOUS.
This is a review of the instructions. They fail on the last part and I now owe $1.49. Not much but it was not expected. Maybe the problem came when I had to subscribe to their newsletter because I couldn’t. I had done that many moons ago. SO – no freebie for me.
As others have noted, this is not free. After you download the client, and install it, and update it, it’s listed as being discounted, but not free.

OK, i have it figured out. You have to actually download the GOG galaxy and install the game per the directions given by Shareware on sale as below:
Once you have done that, download and install GWENT: The Witcher Card Game on your computer (it is free). YOU MUST BE LOGGED INTO YOUR GOG ACCOUNT WHEN YOU DO THIS. You will get the message you are downloading GoG Galaxy GWENT The Witcher Card Game installer. The filename is GOG_Galaxy_Gwent.exe. Once this completes, install. It will ask you to log in to your GoG account via this client, once you do you you will receive an email that says:
Yay! there are new free items in your library.
One or more new items have just been added to your account at no charge. If you have any questions, contact our support team with your Order ID.

THEN, go to the page to subscribe to the newsletter given by the Sharewareonsale instructions, Click to claim your bonus and it will guide you through the process of claiming the game. IT WILL SHOW 0.00 to pay if you have followed all of the steps correctly.
Just FYI, I did try this several times WITHOUT downloading the GoG Galaxy client and installing the required GWENT card game and I kept getting the 1.49 price. Once I followed the latest Sharewareonsale instructions (which I have expounded upon above) it worked perfectly. You will get the message that the game is in your library and the following email:
Yay! there are new free items in your library.
One or more new items have just been added to your account at no charge. If you have any questions, contact our support team with your Order ID.

[@Deep] Just to clarify, if you follow the steps correctly, when you claim the game and add it to your cart, it will show 0.00 as the price. If it shows 1.49 you have missed a step somewhere and SHOULD NOT check out because you will have to pay the 1.49. :)
[@Deep] If that does happen, just remove the game from your cart and follow the excellent instructions provided by Sharewareonsale. I did this and it worked perfectly for me.

The key is going to https://www.gog.com/gwent-welcome-bonus. What I don’t know is how long it takes to show up in your library. That was the missing step for me. Although I did get the newsletter signup screen once and thought it was NOT important. I got the email saying I have free stuff but in checking the client and web there is nothing yet.
