wosaGuestJust a hint:
All what this tool can do can (at least as well) be accomplished with “AutoHotkey” – INCLUDING(!) the ability to simply PAUSE all the Hotkeys (or even to switch to a different set!).
As for me: I even use AutoHotkey with “Sub-Menus”. e.g. a menu for phrases; and fo open a “Starter-Menu” for tools to open them as admin (instead as a standard user)!Of course I admit: getting started with AutoHotkey is not as easy as the offered tool from Wise…
BUT:
– the advantages of AutoHotkey are overwhelming – understanding that you can do (almost) everything with AutoHotkey !
– and, btw.: you will find a lot of help in a very friendly and active community!Just ONE (very simple, but extremely effective and RAM saving!) example:
Pressing [Print] opens the (non resident!) IrfanView, lets me freely define an rectangle for saving, in whatever file format I want, and at the same time let me (if wanted/needed) add annotations, draw to it, etc.Cheers
GaryGuestExactly one year to the day (2021-05-21), the same exact version (1.2.8) was given away here on SoS, … but they are not the same. A year ago, the file size was listed as 3.0 MB, but this year, the file size is listed as 3.9 MB. The two setup files are indeed different sizes and the HASH values are (of course) different. During the installation, last year’s setup stated that 2.7 MB of disk space was needed, and this one states that it needs 4.0 MB of disk space. I am surprised with as large of a setup file and disk space needed that a different version number was not used. But is it really a problem? I dug deeper to see.
The actual final exe files are nearly the same size. Swedish and Vietnamese languages have been added, which can explain a portion of the increase. The English language files are the same except for the header area (one line added). Oddly, last year, the English.ini version was stated as being 1.2.8.58, but this year, it is 1.2.7.57.
The biggest difference is in the unins000.exe files, in that this year’s is nearly double the size of last years, however, the version number for the uninstall executable (unins000.exe) is the same.
Most likely, the overall functionality of the main program is the same (I have not detected any differences). Because the program functions are the same, the company probably did not want to increase the version number. A lot of other companies will increase the version number for any slight change even if it does not affect how the main program works. I call that “version happy” developing. They want the public to think there is something greater out now to encourage updating.
This current release is an example of not changing the version number just because some additional languages were added. In that case, I commend the developers for now making customers think it is “improved” from the last release, just because they added some language that most of the customer base will not use.
