This app is designed for junior surgical trainees who can comfortably do simple laparoscopic cholecystectomy and aspire to overcome difficulties encountered while performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in patients with high BMI.
LC in this group of patients poses different difficulties at different stages of the operation. SAGES has confirmed laparoscopy as the best approach for cholecystectomy in this group of patients In our experience these patients do not need conversion to open procedure only for sake of their obesity.
In our unit we follow methodical approach to LC in these patients and we have found it very useful in avoiding any stressful situations or panicky moments during the surgery
