Akick Document Converter software can convert files to different formats. It is used to convert non-editable to editable formats and vice-versa. This tool can be installed and run on any OS and it easily does the conversion without any difficulty. It has many additional features that makes it very interesting.
When it comes to converting a document in different formats then the need of a document converter is felt. PDF is normally considered the perfect readable format. But editing content on a document, it becomes necessary to get it converted to an editable format. The editable formats of a file are normally docx, ppt, xls, html and others. This is where the document converter software comes as a great assistant to convert files into desired forms.
To get this software on your PC, it is mandatory to have Microsoft Framework 4.0 installed on the machine. What is required is just an internet connection, as the document converter automatically starts to download Microsoft Framework 4.0 in the event of internet availability. So, after download and installation process, the software needs to be activated to give it full authority to undertake file conversions.
After activation of the software, users find it possible to change a PDF file to docx, xls, jpg, xml and other forms. Also, the reverse can be done that involves converting editable forms to a non-editable form such as doc, ppt, gif, rtf to pdf. This software is also loaded with extra features that make it very interesting. The extra features of the ware are listed as under:

The users are given password to lock their PDF file just in-case they want to keep it protected. The password can be used to lock or unlock the pdf file in use. In case, splitting of pdf becomes a requirement, then there is an option to split the file into different pages. Similarly, merging pages to a single file is also a possibility with the merge PDF option. The users are also enticed with the OCR technology that allows extracting text from any image file. Accuracy with which text is extracted is highly admirable.

Reviews for Akick Document Converter
Every time you search for a document converter on the internet, you are bound to bump into a new entrant. In my case, I have to check and test the different features that a given converter offers before making it my go-to converter. In that spirit, I recently came across Akick Document Converter and took it through the paces. Here is what I noted.
At a Glance
Installing Akick Document Converter is super easy. However, its registration prompt that requires a phone number could put you off for a moment. Thankfully, you do not have to use valid details to get to the next step of registering your piece, which will give you 365 days of usage. Afterward, you will get to the main interface with rather straightforward options. However, the UI comes across as rather utilitarian and misses intuitive designs you would expect on modern applications.
Pros
Fast PDF Splitting
For one reason or another, you may need to split a multi-page PDF file into single pages. Akick Document Converter easily lets you split such files in few clicks. After choosing the source file, you only need to click on the Split PDF button to get the job done. Impressively, the process only takes a short time hence you won’t have to wait for long.
Set Passwords on Your PDFs
Although the PDF file format provides the recommended way for saving and sharing document due to restricted editing, the tons of available converters simply their conversion to editable copies. Thankfully, Akick Document Converter has an option that let me set a user and owner password on my PDFs. The password restricts printing, copying, or editing content on the PDFs.
Multiple Conversion Options
The other impressive feature that this converter provides is its ability to convert between different file formats. The options range from converting DOC, DOCX, PDF, JPG, TXT, and XLSX files into PDF, XLS, XML, HTML, and CSV. You only need to choose accordingly then hit the Convert button.
Cons
No Additional Options for Efficient PDF Splitting
It is worth mentioning that the field of PDF and other document converters is crowded. In that field, you can access document converters that offer more helpful options than Akick Document Converter regarding splitting PDF files. For instance, Aplus Combo PDF lets you specify a range of pages. This approach is more effective than having to split all pages of a PDF and then deleting other pages.
Less Developed UI
Right after installing this application, you will note that the interface is less intuitive. Apart from this shortcoming regarding user experience, the converter does not support the basic drag-and-drop feature that you can find in most applications. The drag and drop feature could help in saving time especially when you want to merge multiple files into a PDF.
Conclusion
Akick Document Converter offers a wide range of conversion options between different file formats. Unfortunately, bundling up all such options into one area dented this application’s efficiency. Some of the options like PDF splitting seems a little bit rigid since it offers not additional options that would let you specify how you want the splitting to occur. Having said so, I found this converter more helpful when converting between PDF and DOCX formats.
The document converter world is sort of crowded. I see conversion tools almost every way I look. There are free online converters, offline converters and converters built into your favorite document editor. More options make me choosier, keener on details that either uphold quality or make conversion easier. This is the mentality I had when installing Akick Document Converter.
Did I love It?
I wouldn’t say it was a love-at-first-sight affair. To begin with, the setup process that asks for my phone number is, well, uncalled for. All I want is to convert documents. I don’t know how my phone number comes into play.
Apart from this, you will find Akick Document Converter to pack most of the conversions and file types you will want to use in daily life. Though I must admit that the menu to the left is a bit confusing (almost tricked me into thinking the software deals in PDFs alone,) you will find all your source and target file formats on the drop down menus to the right. I think these should have been more prominent as they are the centerpiece of the software.
Pros
Sufficient Conversion Options
Akick Document Converter won’t leave you stranded as it covers most of the common conversions I would ever think of doing. There is the popular Word-PDF conversion and other uncommon options like TIFF and BMP formats. It is safe to say that Akick Document Converter works on images and regular documents (rich text, spread sheets, plain text and Major MS Office formats)
Fast And Mostly Accurate Conversion
I was interested in how well and how fast this piece can convert a highly formatted PDF document into .docx or html without losing any formatting or forcing weird image scaling. This is where most converters go wrong. I gave it a 100 page Car magazine and I must admit I was impressed at the speed of conversion and attention to detail.
Even though I missed some bold text and the font trim. Everything, from the layout to the text in the footnotes sections looked exactly the same. This makes it quite and efficient tool for document conversion work.
A similar test on spreadsheet formats XLS to CSV or XLSX lead to a reliable conversion that kept data format hence saving me the pain of rearranging columns. I lost some visual formatting but this is almost always expected.
Cons
A Rather Misleading UI
As I said before, I’d be more comfortable if Akick Document Converter put its focus on conversion. Heck, the social media icons at the very top are more prominent than the actual conversion options. This will be a bummer when using the software for the first time but you will learn to live with it once you know your way around.
Verdict
While I wouldn’t mind using Akick Document Converter on daily basis, I must admit that I found it rather crowded for such a simple piece of software. A minimalist approach focusing on getting the job done will be fine-thank-you. After all, I ought to use it in the office or when serious and the UI should help keep my busy brain from wandering.
