Reviews for Secure Hunter Anti-Malware PRO
Secure hunter is supposed to be your PC’s hero. The vigilante who works in the shroud of darkness to get rid of malware and threats long before you discover them. In my opinion, this is what an antivirus does. But Secure Hunter insists that it isn’t. It claims to be a hunter who focuses on just identifying and dealing with malware.
This description had me confused long before I could install Secure Hunter and take it for a spin.
At a glance
I really couldn’t tell what to do next after launching Secure Hunter. I have to admit, the installation and activation process is simple and straightforward. But that’s just all about it.
I find the user interface a little bit cluttered. Too much information and features plastered on the main application pane. You will need a minute or two to figure out what is going on.
Pros
A light detection and scan algorithm
My first scan resulted in no performance dips. A great deal of antivirus’ malware scans hog hardware leaving your computer freezing every now and then. My computer handled this just fine with a Blender 3D render and video stream running in the background.
Total control over scans
Sometimes, a computer malware scan will go on for a while, especially if you have a sizeable hard disk. Secure Hunter gives you the power to end your scans whenever you please and deal with what you have identified there and then.
Flexibility over what to scan
The settings button gives a pop up that lets you control the program settings. This takes charge of tiny things like checking for updates on startup to searching archive files (most antivirus software rarely check archive files. This is a plus) to modifying scan settings to cover page files, hidden processes and the boot partitions.
Powerful scan features
Secure Hunter has a detailed malware scan approach. Once done, it could either email you the report or pop up a manage pane that lets you delete or quarantine infected files. I found the email feature especially useful at times when I have to scan someone’s computer but I can’t really sit around waiting for the results.
Cons
It might shut down occasionally
Secure Hunter crashed on me twice. Once after I stopped a scan and once after I tried quarantining multiple files. The same procedures worked on second attempt. I can’t really figure out what makes it crash at times and hold its own at other time.
Cluttered user interface
I really don’t like cluttered user interfaces. I find them tiring. Secure Hunter uses a tiny font to fit virtually everything on one pane. I am sure multiple well labeled tabs would have done the trick better
Verdict
Secure Hunter isn’t an antivirus. It just hunts and manages malware. No intrusion, phishing or blacklisting websites. You will have to run it beside another antivirus (the developers admit this in their description.) This beats the logic of having it in the first place as most respectable will do what it does. I must however admit that the boot and recovery partition scanner is quite useful.
A good antivirus will give you what Secure Hunter does and much more. You’d be better off with a good antivirus unless your computer is powerful enough to run two malware scan tools at a go.

So did it find the malware, oh right you didn’t test it on malware. I will be trying this out myself because your review really didn’t inform me on the most important and the main reason behind anti-malware software, that would be malware. I have 1 security soft running and two on demand scanners, and I’m always looking for better on demand scanners. So will give it a try.
This may seem more negative then I wanted, it’s just I read through your whole review and didn’t find any info I was looking for.
An instant no-no: the developer pretends this product has been “reviewed” by organizations as diverse as Fox News and The Wall Street Journal when all it’s done is copy and paste their logos on top of a Press Release which it pumped out. If you can’t trust the producer of a product to tell the truth, you certainly can’t trust the product. And especially not one claiming to give you complete protection.
