Thanks heaps for this giveaway. I have downloaded and installed. A few things to be aware of
    1. re the issue of email addresses that are valid for registration , apart from the fact that it can’t contain a hyphen, it can’t end in a TLD of more than 3 letters – e.g .info

    2. I tried to edit a pdf. When I inserted text it was in a different font from the text that was already in the document. When I copied and pasted the font name from the existing text and tried to apply it to my inserted text, it said that the font was not available on my system. I tried quite a few pdfs and had this same problem, It does seem a bit of a limitation and I would have thought an editor could at least use the same font as that already in the document. In the past I have used LibreOffice to edit pdfs and it DOES let you insert text in the same font as is already in the document. (LibreOffice does have it’s own problems though).

When I tried editing a pdf that was in Times New Roman, I couldn’t use the Times New Roman font from my PC as it didn’t show up in the drop-down font list. I have no problems selecting Times New Roman as a font in other software I use (e.g. MS Word), so there is sonmething worng with the way iskysoft pdf editor populates the font drop-down list (or there could be something dodgy with my PC of course :-)

    3. I had a pdf that was a “scanned” pdf. I had previously converted it to “searchable” using ‘ABBYY pdf converter’. This means that you can search for text and select / copy text. To my mind it means that the document as been “OCRd” However you can’t select or edit the text using the iskysoft editor. (To be fair other pdf editors I have can’t edit it either but they do allow you to select and copy the text). If I open the original “scanned” pdf then iskysoft editor does tell me it is a scanned pdf and can’t be edited. It’s good that it lets you know. But with the “searchable” one it doesn’t tell you it can’t be edited when you open it – so it may seem that the software is not working.

    4. The software is easy to use but the problems with the font make it a complete non-runner for me

[@CJ Cotter] Yes, the OCR plugin is separate from iSkysoft PDF Editor. iSkysoft PDF Editor is regularly priced at $69.95 while the OCR plugin, which is optional, is another $19.95. This giveaway is of iSkysoft PDF Editor and does not include the OCR plugin. We clearly stated this in the Software Description tab: “Please note iSkysoft PDF Editor has OCR capabilities if you have iSkysoft PDF Editor OCR plugin installed; the OCR plugin is a optional separate program that isn’t included in this offer.”

Perhaps it’s just me, but the speed of the download has been just painful, trickling at best (and I do mean trickling–at the current speed I’m getting, the 34MB download will take over 2 hours or more) and repeatedly stalling or timing out. Perhaps the site is getting hammered, as I saw that this offer made its way onto CNET’s Cheapskate blog as an offer of the day. :(

I have a legitimate question – this is not troll.

Like most Wondershare products, including full-version software, can someone confirm if Adware is also bundled with this software? I decided to keep away from Wondershare products after I realised they were bundling adware, which you could not uninstall – this same adware was also included with many of their affiliated products, such as Aimersoft, iSkysoft, Younameitsoft, etc. This is just one example of many – The process is called WSHelper.exe for Wondershare branded products and I noticed ASHelper.exe was used for Aimersoft branded products, so if I was to take a guess, the iSkysoft equivalent, if it exits, might be ISHelper.exe. It might be in your /Common Files/ directory. I could be wrong – perhaps Wondershare products no longer include adware, but this is the reason why I decided a while ago to stay away from this software developer.

I might give it a go if someone can confirm that this product is clean from such adware.

No problems installing or registering free version. Quick test converting 66 page PDF document (to Word) containing text, tables, and photos did well. Some discrepancies with font in final doc, but otherwise impressive. Compared to same test with ABBYY PFD Transformer, iSkysoft PDF Editor produced a much better result. No time for further tests/comparison right now, but I would suggest you get it while you can based on my results. Thanks Ashraf and iSkysoft

I decided to try this program simply because I do a lot of work with PDF files. I was mainly interested in the merge/split function. I had no trouble downloading, installing or registering this program. Went so simple, I couldn’t believe it. No watermarks as stated below; splitting was too easy. Clear documents after the split. So far, can’t find anything wrong. I now have to look into the OCR feature as the program that I recently got from gaod included that feature, but the split/merge feature, I still can’t locate it to use it. Thank you for having this today! Ashraf, keep up the good work.

[@Giovanni] Thanks for the kind words Gio! I don’t know about “better than GAOTD” but we are definitely trying.

As for PDFCool PDF Editor Freeware, have you actually used the program yourself or are you just touting it based on what their website says? We took a look at that program the last time you mentioned it to us. I’m sorry but PDFCool PDF Editor Freeware is NOT a freeware full-featured PDF editor. Rather, PDFCool PDF Editor Freeware is crippled nagware. This is what one of my reviewers discovered with the program (which is why we haven’t published a review of it on dotTech — it isn’t worth reviewing):

“When you click a tool, for ex. the Edit Text tool, it will show a pop-up window that will prompt you to purchase the Pro version since the said feature isn’t available for the freeware version. Aside from that, it contains this separate application called IconCool Panel – which basically shows all of the developer’s products that one might want to purchase.A major downer is that the freeware version can’t edit the text in the PDF document.”
