Not impressed. Yes, it’s pretty fast. *** Might do well with certain types of pictures ***
I can do a better job with a clone tool in most paint programs. It does a poor job of blending the colors/luminance at the edges of the filled in area, making such areas easy to spot in the finished picture. It seems to grab filler from random areas near the space to fill, and misses any chance of trying to match the area adjacent to what’s being removed. Interesting program but so far not better than CutOut or similar programs, at least on the several images I tried.
In the tutorial example the area around the objects being removed is very uniform, so it works well but would also be super easy with a clone tool. I expected the AI engine to handle more complex removals. I tried removing a dot off a guitar fretboard and it removed parts of the adjacent frets, left a dark patch where the dot was.
I’m sure this will get better over time, look forward to trying it again someday.
