IMPOSSIBLE if it was LOSSLESS it would not need AI! It’s loosely generative AI upscaling it adds interpolated pixels and smoothing of gradients and is ABSOLUTELY NOT LOSSLESS! Some images are actually ruined by certain AI upscaling models where lines get grossly distorted or even removed. Remember current AI of ALL types can and does make errors and what is worse than real intelligence AI has no sanity check on its output so presents it’s unchecked output warts and all with no consciousness that it screwed up and made a mess and no way of informing it it made mistakes.
