This is the first time that I have uninstalled something that has been given away at this site. I have several different programs by Ashampoo on my computer and have used them all and like each one.
However, by installing this program, it installs an App which you then end up at their site wherein they ask if you want the program installed. It then asks where you want to install the app on your computer. I use a program called Software Organizer each time when installing as it traces the installation and removes any traces after installed or especially when uninstalling. This software today, has to be done through Ashampoo’s website which seems to me they have control of my computer.
I dislike that idea. So I uninstalled that first app which was installed today.
It seems to me now that Ashampoo wants control over your computer. I certainly hope I am wrong on this.

I went to the Ashampoo website and this app does not appear there. Spent some time searching but no such software seems to exist. Just saying.

The Sharewareonsale screen says this app is only 780KB. What is its true size for those who installed it?
    Thanks!

The last couple of times trying programs with Ashampoo’s push to their site gets completely stalled. It just won’t connect. And I’m sure I’m not the only one blocked by the crap program that supposedly helps with the total download. Deleting.

I installed the Ashampoo App – which is i dont like and useless. The ASH. App didnt let me change location for installing the Easy paint. Tried to select my folder 8 times on drive D where my programs are. Bug!!! and the Ash App buggery bugged crap. So i was pushed to install it in C drive as per Ashampoo App will C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo App\products. Note: i was able to uninstall and then reinstall Easy paint later after i change settings in Ashampoo App for the install directory. I already dislike the whole process of installation before even trying the Easy Paint to compare it with MS one . No one in the world likes to install something that – 1 doesnt work, 2- unnecessary, 3- ANNOYING. The Ashampoo App is all these 3 above. Maybe the idea is not bad. But the application of the idea doesnt work for majority of Users. the Comodo premium AV CIS right away logged the blockage while running or installing the Ashampoo APP the message is below:
    chcp 65001|powershell -command “chcp 65001|Out-Null;Add-Type -AssemblyName PresentationCore;$families=[Windows.Media.Fonts]::SystemFontFamilies;foreach($family in $families){$name=”;if(!$family.FamilyNames.TryGetValue([Windows.Markup.XmlLanguage]::GetLangu
Could be unrelated as it is about Win fonts. could be related. Who knows
Not pleasant installation process. Ashampoo is good . the Ashampoo app is intrusive and can go to … trash bin. Uninstalling just because i want to make a point, not bcoz Easy Paint is bad!!

I read all the information and knew the program would use their Ashampoo Connect App interface. A while back, I tried Ashampoo Burning Studio 2024 one of Ashampoo’s programs that also requires the Ashampoo Connect App, but the Ashampoo Connect App did not go beyond the first screen. I found that the Burning Studio did get installed at:
    C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Connect\products
I can still start it without the Connect App.

For the Ashampoo Easy Paint program, I ran the downloaded file at 7:00 p.m. Almost immediately, the Ashampoo Connect App screen displayed a message stating, “Ashampoo Connect is being updated.” It will continue in a few moments.

It has been over 20 hours since 7:00 pm, but the same message remains. The upper-right common Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons do nothing. The only way to stop it is by using Task Manager.

I decided to uninstall the Ashampoo Connect App. Not surprisingly, in Ashampoo’s Uninstall program, the user cannot select the app to uninstall. I found that if I go to the Ashampoo Connect App installed folder, there is an uninstall program. It worked.

Next, I restarted the Ashampoo Easy Paint program install. This time, the Connect App was installed. It shows the Ashampoo programs I have installed and are ready to Launch, but Ashampoo Easy Paint was not listed. I did clip on the option to install it when the Connect App first took me to the Ashampoo website. I clicked on the Terms of Use link and the Privacy link. After they were displayed, clicking the option to install Ashampoo Easy Paint seemed to do nothing but return me to the Ashampoo Connect App. The Easy Paint program was not displayed along with the other programs already installed.

I tried starting the downloaded Easy Paint file again. Almost instantly, the Easy Paint program showed up, and checking the Ashampoo Connect App, the Ashampoo Easy Paint program was included. I expected the program would be installed in a folder under:
C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo App\products … the same as was used for Burning Studio 2024 but it was installed under:
    C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Connect\products

Ashampoo apparently has changed the default location where they install programs that require the Ashampoo Connect App.

For those that don’t like the Ashampoo Connect App, Ashampoo programs that are installed through the Ashampoo Connect App can be started on their own, so after installing those programs, the Ashampoo Connect App can be uninstalled (if desired) and the programs will still work just fine. The programs are listed in the Start Menu under the Ashampoo group.

The Ashampoo Connect App has some unusual issues that could be improved upon. It is useful in showing all Ashampoo programs installed on your system, those that can be updated, and other Ashampoo programs you can purchase. The idea is clearly to get the user to think “Ashampoo” for all your computing needs.

The Ashampoo Connect App lists programs that can be “updated” and does not exclude the programs that cannot be updated per the terms when installed (from SoS or other giveaway sites).

If the Ashampoo Connect App cannot work reliably and give the user some advantages, then the programs that require it to be installed cannot be installed. It is sad to see that because I have quite a few Ashampoo programs. I can do without the Connect App, and install programs from all developers, the same as I have for years.

As for the Ashampoo Easy Paint program, it is a very basic program. It is worth exploring. It could be useful if you do not have any alternative.

That’s my point as well: wee need to go thru all these hustles to instal useless program which is buggy , investing time to uninstal Ashampoo App later… Why not give an user an option to install it or tick off not to install Ashampoo App? Less wingers among us and more trust in Ashampoo! If ashampoo realy cares they should have done it already: Ashampoo App is an option to install . The case is closed !!!

One more thing to reply to Gary and anyone else and it really REALLY sux. After i uninstalled Ashampoo app the Easy Paint stopped to work due to License issue . Even if the Licence supposed to be save . It did not. The app simply got bricked after i tried to edit a file. 1- it didnt save the editing, 2nd- Easy paint doesnt open at all next time due to license. there is no way to enter the license even if you have it for free from the Ash App or from yr online ashampoo account. So the catch is : YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE ANY other APPs you’ve installed using Ashampoo App . Ashampoo, this is FUBR!!!

The message i got after uninstalling the Ashampoo APP
    Invalid license!
Your Ashampoo Easy Paint license seems to be invalid. Please check Ashampoo App to make sure that you have a valid license.

I am sure if i install the Ashampoo back i need to reinstall the easy Paint too, coz i installed the Paint in the different drive (D:)

Installed this without a hitch. Program runs very smoothly and the learning curve is not too steep – I guess that’s why it’s named “Easy Paint”! I can see myself using this in conjunction with other Graphics programs. I’m getting some excellent results so far. I recommend it.
